On a Covid related note @Bruce Wayne

I'm still looking for death figures for cancer of people that died with cancer rather than from cancer. Nobody has found them.

I want to find where cancer was the only thing on the death certificate...

I've got a feeling McMillan and Cancer Research are overblowing things regarding cancer deaths.

Hitler really died of syphilis you know, the cyanide thing was massively overblown to inflate the cyanide stats.

Storm Eunice is here...

The Met Office can only predict, they will never give a straight answer...

Strong winds don't affect me. I need to live my life. I've left all the garden furniture out, windows are open for better natural air flow, this "stay indoors advice" is just a way of controlling me, I remember Storm Dudley and it passed me by no problem.

Pretty convenient that next week we end restrictions for Covid and the Met Office announced red weather warnings if you ask me.

I'll be up in the microlight as usual.

My phone sent me an adverse weather warning via 5G, just saying.

We‘re on to you Mr Gates:

Good example of something that is asymptomatic which you can spread to others, which wedding non clinical protection can reduce transmission and even though you've had a jab to treat it you can still catch it again.

Probably wanted his natural immunity to deal with it. Obviously, he would've just died *with* syphilis rather than that being the cause.

You can catch it and it can stay in the body for decades and it can still be added onto a death certificate!

I've followed this thread pretty closely and I can't recall that. I'd also note that 'moaning' about restrictions being lifted does not mean you are anti freedom or want indefinite lockdown.

:coffee:
Just watching Hancock being grilled on lessons learnt. A couple of key lessons...
Lesson 1 We were too late to lockdown in March 2020.
Lesson 2 We were too slow to react to Kent variant.

Would be very careless to have-

Lesson 3 We failed to recognise the threat of Delta and opened up too quickly.

as it would indicate that they never learn.

Nah read guardian review and now Guido picture. even with his man Harwood being on the channel, hard to tell which one is the condemning. Let the band play on sinking ships.

Can't support dangerous fools like Wotton.

No surprise Anti lockdown mob attacked a bbc journalist later. Probably the kind of people who take their cue from the likes of Dan Wootton. OFCOM will certainly have someone watching this channel, poor them!

Those who have compromised immune system that I know can rest now as common sense indeed prevails, such measure increases their chance of living longer, selfish I know, but I like them in my life..

When people stop dying unnecessarily...

Unfortunately we have a NHS that has been starved of funds this is the result people have voted for a bare minimum service because too many are sold on the normalization of low tax is good. However, the Government know letting this virus unabated will result in pictures of dying people in corridors. that's all bye the bye.

So if we get 100k Omricon exponential reported cases day by end December that's 1 million cases and get 1% conversion to hospital thats thousands of people. It does not even matter if those people will need oxygen/ventilation or not. They will take up services which are scarce as it is. Add staff absence and you’re in perfect storm territory for another lockdown...

And too many people are sold on the idea that vaccine was golden goose out of this, never was... Prevention is always better than the cure.

Lockdown for all purposes finished round VE weekend, alright for the white middle classes to toddle of to the beach in their masses, yet some of those most at risk need to continue to stay at home on their days off but continue in their risky key worker roles, nah don't think so.

People should not be travelling out of their lockdown locality in England to go on holiday in Wales, as it's non essential... Surely Johnson COVID marshalls should be whispering to the authority's on their holidaying neighbors?

National Lockdown or its pointless.

The issue now is a lack of social compliance amongst some in the population who either believe the rules don’t apply to them or are just ignoring the restrictions, this does not bode well

Just bad Tory WUM rhetoric.

People will carry on as they are because frankly nothing has changed. It's a mockdown not a lockdown. Apart from hammering the hospitality sector again, they've done little to stop the current trend of increasing cases and deaths.

After watching Gove this morning and constant tweaking on what can open in this mockdown they know full well what they've announced won't make much difference to the figures over the next few weeks.

The most pertinent factor is lockdown. Not only just reducing this virus spreading , but also other illnesses and incidents when life is 'normal' that would bring people in the need of medical care. The NHS just about copes every winter without COVID and Lockdown.

PPE regulation has been loosened just to get something on the something on the front line. As from 27 April 2020 the Government downgraded the extent of PPE advised in some situations and it now allows repeated or extended use of some equipment. Most concerning the guidance does not emphasise that PPE in the face of danger is mandatory. So of course there is PPE they have basically rationioned it.

We would have people lying dying in corridors without the lockdown, it's the entire point of them. All transferable infection and accidents reduce significantly in these periods. It's in part the entire point.

We would go back to some normalisation come summer with or without vaccine, as this type of virus don't like Sun .

Reality of the situation vaccine is only six month protection, so likely lockdown could become the norm in our winter months.

Much prefer pragmatism and honesty myself.
