I don’t follow Twitter much. I don’t really understand it. I think he’s a decent person though.

I'm fairly with you on Jones. Chavs was very good and very impressive he was 27 at the time it was published. He can often be a bit quick to judgement but he's usually alright and has a sense of humour. Don't agree with him on everything by a long shot, but he's a positive to the left I'd say

He just sometimes gets in rabbit holes and it doesn't always end well. he gets a lot of stick though so it's probably quite difficult. you can tell he at least has reasons for why he has said certain things.

For me, Femi and James Felton are the worst of left Twitter

The money begins to do the talking. :)

Oh yeah, big win, really showed them!

... meanwhile they're clinking champagne glasses and leveraging the hell out of it.

Basic PR/marketing. There's no amount of money that could have bought this for them, yet you lot gift wrap it and hand it over.

Bravo.

There’s a difference between boycotting and choosing not to advertise with certain people. I worked in marketing for a while and we would often get reports that our ads were seen in places we didn’t want them to be and that were supposed to be on our “blacklist”. That wasn’t a case of us boycotting, it was a case of us not wanting our ads in certain places. We would contact the people responsible and it would be sorted quickly. So I can fully believe that these companies didn’t actually intend to have their ads shown on GB News.

I did once try and push through a boycott of The S*n when the phone hacking scandal was happening. Felt especially pertinent as I was working for a phone company so hoped they might pay attention. But our agency had a deal with The S*n and so we couldn’t back out as it would have caused issues for the entire company. So it never went to the client as far as I know.

Anyway, my point is, these companies are quite possibly not boycotting, they just didn’t want to be there in the first place. And there is a difference.

Are you suggesting the other side to this are getting also getting outraged and jumping to conclusions?

Did not see that one coming.

Yeah can see average customer of Ikea, "don't you know there is a criminal heading up Ikea, not getting my flat pack there anymore, thankyou GB news you are our new go to".
Trying to work out which of the two of you are more salty... Anyway look forward to dirt on the other corporate gogs, such as Nivea Kopparberg etc.. Nothing like the money getting to the principle of the matter.

Not sure Femi is “left”, tbh.

Surprised you’re having to explain this to be honest

He’s a funny one. His book ‘Chavs’ was especially poignant and well written. Not so keen on him since but of all the dangers out there he’s close to the bottom of the list.

He just has the air of a hyper-earnest student newspaper columnist, and writes like one too. Seeing his solemn mug poke out of the top of an article elicits a quick swerve from me

He didn't, as it wasn't the point being made.

Of course advertisers are free to choose where to advertise. The issue is the culture which intends to pressure them to make that decision in the first place. Due to that, it becomes more of a 'moral boycott' than a choice for brands, hence why you see Kopparberg not simply choosing to not advertise on GB News, but simultaneously putting out a virtue signalling statement that they're 'for everyone'.

This is how it's done - laugh at them, highlight the stupidity.

This is the right idea.

How is that different from calling for a boycott though? Neil et al. are as likely to complain about “bullying” or say “the liberal elites are laughing at you” as they are go on about wokes cancelling them.

Damn those Yankies trying to cancel Britain.

Nah read guardian review and now Guido picture. even with his man Harwood being on the channel, hard to tell which one is the condemning. Let the band play on sinking ships.

Can't support dangerous fools like Wotton.

No surprise Anti lockdown mob attacked a bbc journalist later. Probably the kind of people who take their cue from the likes of Dan Wootton. OFCOM will certainly have someone watching this channel, poor them!
