What a fantastic idea - shredded wheat head Andrew Neil launching a British Fox-type 24 hour news channel.

The serfs and brain donors will be slavering watching that.

Just what we all need in the teeth of a pandemic, a home for MAGA hat wearing, Para banner waving, conspiracy theory cranks and anti-vax freaks.

I'm sure he'll be fair and balanced. More pigs suckling on the public purse.

What does the GB stand for? Gammon bollocks?

How my heart bleeds for the poor under-represented right. They occupy practically every major position in public life, the richest generation that will ever exist, they've sold their grandkids down the river with their post-war colonial wank-fantasy, Brexit, and they're still angry at everything and consider themselves victims. They can all, to a man, go screw themselves.

Truly scary place this country is becoming.

...’shredded wheat head’ is funny @davek. I recall Neil was leader of Young Scottish Conservatives (I think) at one point. To be fair, he can put politicians on the spot regardless of their colour.

i do think that reporters in general look to score points and try and get politicians in a fix on things that don’t particularly matter. They shouldn’t try and be clever, they should hold them to account on key issues regardless of their personal background.

He's an egotist. I dont rate him.

I dont see his style as being particulary useful. Here's why: everyone just acknowledges "it's going to be a mauling off Neil, just get on with it (or as per Johnson, hide a way from it). If you get slaughtered it means nothing because EVERYONE does." The interogation is therefore meaningless. Most of his interviews are a stage for tripping up an individual who represents a party rather than examining the forces that produce them.

The rise of QAnon, this, Parler, the absolute s**tstains we have in power and the rabid lunatics out on the street that somehow bot deny the virus exists and support this government which says it does...

The warning signs are there and the klaxons are blaring. This country along with the US is speeding down a far right rabbit hole and the brakes have been cut.

Andrew Neil's a clever guy. One of the big disappointments for me was not seeing him ripping into Boris Johnson before the last election. I had my sandwiches and thermos all ready in front of the TV too.

Despite his obvious cowardice and dodginess, the oafs still voted for him.
