the problem with adopting the best to just listen to the scientists' is that they only have one viewpoint. 'I must not get blamed at the public enquiry that is coming, for any death which captain hindsight will say I could have prevented if I had spoken up at the time'. The disastrous side effects of lockdown, they won't get blamed for that so it doesn't enter significantly into their calculations. So we end up super cautious, and with annual lockdowns. Basically, Christmas is banned forever if the test is that the nos might get overloaded. cos the nhs was in danger of overload prior to covid, it don't take much for the warning lights to start flashing. I think we have to get our heads around the concept of allowing overload rather than lockdown. that way we get back to normal life. I mean, we've had our jabs, if you still need a ventilator cos of covid and they're all taken, well that's very sad but sometimes the dice just doesn't role your way. Thems the breaks. It's hard, but surely preferable to our whole way of life being chucked in the bin. cos these annual lockdowns are unsustainable, they will eventually bankrupt us, and we won't be able to afford to fund the nos to previous levels in any event.
