Just a few points on this.. they estimate that actual infections are 40% higher, it's likley much higher than that, I personally know 4 people with positive antigen tests who can't get a PCR test. And for the first time it's pointed out in Irish media that the hospital numbers comprises of people who presented with covid and those who tested positive in hospital although its not broken down.

It'll never wash, though, at least in America. The media's lobby is pretty good, and it'll collapse on First Amendment grounds. Even if the courts imposed it (which is where it would have to happen), it would rightly be condemned as legislating from the bench.

Not sure about the First Amendment bit, at least in these circumstances - as Alex Jones has found, it’s got to be honestly held; putting out crap knowing it’s crap and believing it’s crap should be actionable.

You are right about the media lobby though; they seem to think it’s like benefit of clergy and so anything is legal (like that Project Veritas burglary nonsense).

If I post that I think that the unvaccinated should be essentially removed from participating in society, it may irritate a few people reading, but won’t influence governments decision. If someone else posts unverified nonsense picked up from Facebook it may send another user down some rabbit hole and result in them making a decision on the vaccine based on incorrect information.

Personally I think a vaccine mandate would be a bad thing, particularly as most of the vaccine hesitate are from the margins of society anyway. I don’t think removing people from society, who already feel unheard, would be a good thing at all.

I respect anyones decision on what they want to with their own body, but what is becoming ever clearer is that vaccines and boosters are what will get us back to a normal society. The uptake is vital. Every person who makes the call not to take the vaccine affects this, so although I respect their decision, what I can’t respect is them justifying that decision by attempting to indoctrinate others into what is essentially an anti-science position.

Unless someone unhinged genuinely believes the unvaccinated are evil nasty suoer spreaders and go and takes matters into their own hands so to speak like we've seen with Jo Cox, David Amess, racist, homophoboic etc attacks.

We are heading into Nazi Germany territory particularly in mainland Europe scapegoating marginalised groups in society and talking about mandatory jabs, people being booted out of employment etc and you claim that isn't setting a dangerous precedent lol

You may not have people being rounded up and gassed but the so called Liberal socialists on here will be bleating about authoritarianism when its their heads along with immigrants etc.on the block once the current scapegoats of the unvaccinated are done with.
 


Looks roughly similar to the modelling, slightly ahead but generally the same trajectory. Really is about how much can be tolerated by the NHS now. My interpretation is that Lockdowns would only flatten that Jan/Feb curve and spread it out, so would we be in restrictions til April time as we always assumed? Either way I think tonight is one last big blowout for all those so inclined before we head back to the dark times for a bit

We’ve had vaccine mandates before. It was mandated that all babies were vaccinated from small pox in the 19th century.

Jesus christ. I've been getting vaccines for as long as I remember and Ireland isn't Nazi Germany. But hey, maybe the next 36 years will be different because Foreverblue on GrandoldTeam spotted a slippery slope that I didn't
