Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

Anti vaxxers need to swerve pretending they're some sort of freedom fighters. They're just ill informed.

It's odd that they all love getting their information from Facebook as they'll all end up using that metaverse when the passports come in.

'experimental vaccine' do me a favour. At this stage they're some of the most widely used vaccines in human history.
It is still in the 'experimental' stage though. This isn't anti-vax talk, this is genuine scientists. It's basically all been one big global experimentation because of the circumstances. Which is why they keep on getting refined.

This is incorrect. It’s not in the ‘experimental’ phase. And they aren’t getting refined due to experimentation. They are adapted to subsequent variants in the same way as other vaccines are.

Exactly - if it hadn't been then 75 people in the UK wouldn't have lost their lives to severe blood clotting which was never picked up during the AZ trials because we simply didn't have enough time to do medical trials lasting years on them.

For what its worth I cant stand anti vaxxers who spout conspiracy nonsense - but those who've had vaccines in the past but have reservations over these ones based on the timeframe have 100% legitimate concerns and its scary how brainwashed the masses have been by the media to hate on these people and look down on them as lepers.

Indeed. They have an emergency approval for use but they have still been through vigorous trials. They had to be approved quickly that's true but they have been tested during various stages.

Im double jabbed but I'll stand up for peoples rights to choose.

Demonising groups of people in society and talking about restriction of freedoms / employment etc. is very dangerous and radical.

You have had people in this very thread stating unvaccinated shouldn't be given treatment for COVID etc.
Media under state control
Reintroduce the death penalty
Army on the streets
Prison sentences spanning years for protesting.

Just a few things you’ve said should happen in the country so I’m confused as to why turning into nazi germany is a concern for you? I think you’d like it.

It wasn’t picked up in the trials because it is so rare that you needed a huge number of people being vaccinated to spot it, not because of the speed of the trials. The AZ trials were done on a comparatively large group of about 30k people but at a rate of 8 incidences per million there is a good chance that there were no cases in the trial group.

  • Study finds TTS rate 8.1 per million after 1st dose
  • Study finds TTS rate 2.3 per million after 2nd dose
  • Results back 2nd dose, unless TTS after 1st - company

Didn't you say, in this thread, that you wished the media was state controlled?

Although, for what it's worth, I do agree that unvaxxed (not anti Vax) shouldn't be marginalised and that NHS workers shouldn't be sacked for not getting a vaccine.

I've always been pro legalisation of recreational drugs so it would be wrong of me to agree that governments should be able to choose what is in people's bodies.
Pretty much where I’m at. You can’t really force people to do something they don’t want to.
