Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

It really isn't. Just ban gatherings of, say 50+ people until we have more reliable data. Most businesses could get back to work at some level of capacity.
It really is if you look at part I highlighted
A 150 cover restaurant cant make money if it's only a third full on a FRI/ SAT night
A large 300 seater pub will not make money on 50 people on a sat night and the Government will not be able to enforce restictions on numbers

I think demand for more rural housing will be higher than ever when the market restarts.

(I'm selling mine if anyone's interested... ;)lol. 4 bed detached, small market town, plenty of parking. Garage full of GrandOldTeam mugs. 250k. BARGAIN)
Why the desire for rurality? Staying away from virus riddled urban centres?

My missus is virtually unable to spend any money at the mo due to the lockdown.

Once it is lifted she’ll do her level best to spend it immediately- hair, nails, clothes and other assorted crap .

If you multiply this across the country, I’m sure there’ll be a massive bounce in certain sectors of the economy.
Maybe people will be cautious about letting people get too close to them
Having said that when this is all over my missus is going missing for 3 days
Hair cut, colour, nails ,waxing, facial ,massage pedicure ,all on the cards
She will be a changed woman lol

"Can anyone answer why Beijing, China's political capital, and Shanghai, their economic capital, escaped the virus while 10,000 miles away NY and London, the world's financial Capitals, area being decimated?".
It is all part of the Chinese conspiracy to rule the world

I feel it would be remiss of me to not point out that I did not come to this conclusion on my own but I was reliably informed of this by the aliens that teleported me into their spaceship and anally probed me

I might be wrong but I think they class "underlying health issues" as a gigantic list of things, including just being overweight.

Again, don't quote me on that, but I don't think most of the health issues they refer to are what people think, and actually, a lot of people are vulnerable without realising it.
A lot of people have underlying health conditions and do not know
Asa hartford for example

Pitchforks at the ready...

Inexperience showing, probably too nice for the job shes in
Piers is walking all over her
Too much Birkdale not enough Kirkdale.
In footballing terms she needs to be sent out on loan to get used to playing proper first team football, not U23s
If she was a player she'd be Rodwell or Dowell

My missus cut her own hair this morning and asked me if I wanted mine doing. I was out the back door and mowing the lawn faster than you can say hair clippers. She so knows how to play me. .lol

But seriously, things will take a while to get back to normal. Things like nails and hair, my missus get's them done every month. People will go again but many won't because of social distancing. And you can't take back the 2/3 months missed due to the lockdown. Other things like bars/restaurants and cafes will be on reduced sittings due to social distancing. Many people will be frightened to go abroad on holiday. I'm half expecting it to be chaotic down here in Cornwall if we're allowing UK travel by then. But airlines will continue to take a big hit IMO as will packaged holidays.

Yeah there are some things that we're holding off on buying now that we'll get later in the year. But for a lot of things it will take more time to get back to normal.

I reckon I'm not spending around £400pm just on going out for drinks and meals. The missus must be saving another £200pm on nails, haircuts and petrol etc
My missus reckons she spends a minimum of
Blow drys 100 euro a month
Colour 70 euro a month
Hair cut 85 euro (every 5 weeks )
Nails 55 euro
Facial (no giggles please ) 65 euro
Massage 60 euro
And she complains I go for 5- 6 pints on a weds night on my own
She will be worth a fortune by the time this lockdown is over lol
Our post office book has not looked this healthy in a long time
