It depends though doesn’t it. If you had your tickets, booked a really nice hotel and driver, and been invited into one of the hospitality suites or boxes, you would probably have gone. Today you would think twice and refuse, but at that time ?......
I would have got the train and been in with the plebs though
edit
I have absolutely no interest in horse racing as I think it's as bent as a 4 pound note

Of course. This is such a massive, complex, and unprecedented issue that it would be unbelievable if mistakes weren't made, and as you say, there will almost certainly be some kind of process at the end of this where behaviours are assessed. We can do our stuff on here all we like, and I love doing so as much as you do, but neither of us will be called as witnesses in that inevitable post-mortem, and with good reason :)
Your vote at the next election will be your testimony

I think even when we do start coming out of this social distancing will still be part and parcel of our lives for a few more months at least. But for the sake of our business's and our minds, we need to get some of our cafes, bars and restaurants operating again, even on a reduced capacity basis. I'm not saying now, but in maybe 4/6 weeks time god willing. Mass gatherings need to be put n the back burner for the foreseeable future.
Therein lies the problem
Exceptionally hard to enforce

In happy to change my opinion as the facts change. Morgan has asked decent questions around PPE and today on care homes. Doesn’t get him off the hook for being a prize bellend for years.

It’s more that those who have defended his style when employed on an issue which they agree with, are now screaming about that same style when they happen to disagree.

The stats he was slathering over come from https://www.independentcaregroup.co.uk, who are a care home body operating in York and Yorkshire. How they got to their numbers is anyone's guess as nothing is published on their website. That's the problem with segments like the one involving Morgan and this lady. It's not designed to inform, it's designed to promote him and his show. Had it been an attempt to inform they might have had someone from this group on to explain how they came up with their figure. Maybe even explain some of the situation in carehomes in that area. Heck, a less aggressive interviewing style might even have had a minister more willing to openly admit that, at the moment, the government don't know the true picture in care homes, but they're trying to figure it out. We'd all be better informed, but instead we have that absurd interview that we can all share on Twitter and say how dreadful the world is without bothering to actually try and understand a single [Poor language removed] thing.

Just to give you an indicator to a possible timeline (I know each country is different) Schools were closed over here on 11th of March. They are looking(and seem pretty confident at the moment) to be opening again on 15th of May.
Our ( ireland ) schools closed on the 12th March and most are saying September
There again Greece had a much stricter lockdown than Ireland

I can't stand the man, but he wouldn't let her waffle on about 'the important thing here' or say over and over 'we're working really hard to...'

He asked specific questions multiple times and she either didn't want to give an answer or couldn't but didn't want to say that.

Lets be real here. Some random regional care home body has produced a guesstimate of the impact of the virus in care homes, with zero accountability for either their methodology or their data. The tabloids have printed this as though it's a cast iron fact, and Morgan waved it at this lady and demanded she flagellate herself due to the 4,000 people who have 100% died in care homes due to this. When she said they don't know if that many have died, he demanded she flagellate herself for the 4,000 deaths that have 100% definitely happened because unpublished man in Yorkshire said so. When she found his approach frankly absurd, which it is, he shouted at her that she shouldn't laugh at him, which she blatantly should as he's a monumental bellend.

In NI it looks much the same. Most likely re-open in September. Some friends who are teachers said they were told to be prepared to re-open at the end of May/mid-June but I suspect that’s just to keep them on their toes in case a best case scenario emerges.

Just like every politician does no matter what party they come from. Really pisses me off.

Problem though isn't it? We've got two parties involved in this debate. The Yorkshire care home group, and this care minister lady. Neither are certain how many people have died from covid in care homes. One group is accountable to the public for their actions, one isn't. One has made a guess at how many have died using an unpublished methodology, the other hasn't. Morgan treats one group as the oracle on the matter, and the other as not taking the matter seriously and laughing in the face of the dead.

Seriously.

She came across as completely incompetent and not across her brief very well.

But I struggle to watch GMB political interviews these days. They are just a shouting match where the guest is barely allowed to speak over Morgan, and this was yet another example. And I don't need all that noise when I've just rolled out of bed lol

Mainstream media is getting worse all the time. A good interviewer says as little as possible, but when they speak it matters and is right to the point.
What does that say about the opposition if Piers Morgan and GMB are the only ones asking awkward questions.

I wasn't having a pop at her Bruce because the things you point out are right, the point I was trying to make was that it's not only Tory politicians that don't answer questions in general.
