I’ve just watched GMTV too and I will be watching every morning now.

Piers Morgan certainly gave it to the disgusting Government health minister Helen Whately when she quite clearly laughed when asked to confirm the death of 4000 NHS and care workers.

What is wrong with these people.

She refused to answer any of the tough straight questions he asked including whether she would support pay rises for nhs workers in the future.

This is our government ladies and gentlemen!

I am genuinely shocked by that interview. Will be posting it as soon as it becomes available on YT, which wont be that long I don't think.
Earlier, Starmer was asked if he thought it was right that Goves daughter should jump the queue when frontline staff can't get a test for love nor money. Starmer refused to answer, so it looks like he is going to be a Tory lapdog already........how long has he been in the job?

Watching GMTV right now and Piers Morgan is showing the Care Minister the front page from the Daily Mail announcing 4000 deaths in Care Homes and she was laughing at him. He had to ask her three times why she was laughing and told her that these figures weren't funny. He asked if the figures were accurate three or four times and she refused to answer him. Also asked about why Goves daughter got tested when care homes and frontline staff cant get tested........minister is laughing ....again and Morgan getting extremely irate at her for it and asked her again "why are you laughing"? Helen Whately is her name............ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING FROM THE CARE MINISTER.

Never thought I'd say this but Piers Morgan seems to be the only one holding the government to account. Fair play Piers.

BBC seem loathe to say anything bad about the Government..........I wonder why?

The fact when he quizzed her on why she voted against a 1% pay rise for NHS staff but voted for MPs pay rise tells you all you need to know about her, when pushed on whether shed vote for a NHS rise in a future vote she wouldn't answer, in other words it's a NO again

Also the daughter of Gove who he jumped the queue and abused his power in getting her tested for Covid over a frontline worker, has been complaining that she can't smoke her weed because of her cough

Over the weekend John Humphreys was claiming that BBC bosses have instructed its programs to go easy on Tory Government ministers.
Maybe we will get an hour panorama expose into the government's handling... lol

Would dearly love someone to ask BBC bosses the obvious question of how that situation came to be and who exactly was behind it. Seriously thinking about canceling my TV licence and handing back my Labour Party membership.

You couldn't make this [Poor language removed] up. Unbelievable. Tragic.

She came across as completely incompetent and not across her brief very well.

But I struggle to watch GMB political interviews these days. They are just a shouting match where the guest is barely allowed to speak over Morgan, and this was yet another example. And I don't need all that noise when I've just rolled out of bed lol

Mainstream media is getting worse all the time. A good interviewer says as little as possible, but when they speak it matters and is right to the point.

I don't think she was laughing at the numbers or the deaths. I took it that she was laughing because Piers Morgan wouldn't let her speak.
What? 5-6 times. You would think that after the first time of being asked not to laugh at the Care Home death figures she would have stopped .......but she didn't.
Common decency would dictate that shouldn't even have to be told not to laugh.

Chris Whitty has a lot of humble pie to eat to backtrack on his firm belief about air travel. He's been advising the government that allowing planes into the country is OK. No wonder we're still getting commercial flights arriving in the UK from hotspots New York, Paris, Madrid and Milan. Whitty keeps telling us not to venture far from our doors but people can travel thousands of miles arrive in the UK and are not tested. This was for yesterday.

Here are the flights arriving tomorrow from virus hotspots – with no checks on passengers

44.40 he talks about the myth of air travel and spreading the virus.

He has two children and his kids have probably already\or will jump the que to get tested, which is most likely why he won't comment on it.

If you want a proper politic discussion... don't watch GMB. Piers Morgan doesn't allow it.. as entertaining as it may be

The BBC knows how to do wartime propaganda and censorship. It also knows how to protect the executive from real scrutiny, it's in it's DNA.

Once lockdowns are over - is it basically herd immunity strategy for Europe or are the powers that be going to enforce future lockdowns?

When you see the damage to the economy I cant imagine any further lockdowns after this one.

Even China isnt locking back down and there will still be many cases and deaths over there regardless of what their propaganda says.
This will never ever happen unless we get a vaccine
You are going to have to get used to a new normal way of living
Maccies and football will not always be readily available

If they do it properly, they reintroduce lockdown measures as and when needed. They'll also rely on the populace maintaining social distancing in general for the next 12 months.

The net result of this pandemic over the course of the next year or so is either 8 in 10 of us catching it or a vaccine. There's no other realistic outcome. The question is how you manage the situation until we get to that outcome.

We're in a unique position as an island nation to manage this pretty well. Countries like China have authoritarian regimes, so they can artificially kick the can down the road, but ultimately they'll be swamped too. It can't be stopped, it can only be managed.
