Yeah most stores are still open where I am as well but most only doing pickup or delivery. Grocery stores are obviously open but most seem to be limiting the number of people in at time, spraying shopping carts,etc. Luckily I've been able to work from home the last two and a half weeks. I have my mother at home who is in her early sixties and has some chronic respiratory issues so shes high risk. Been getting our groceries delivered and disinfecting them when they arrive to limit her exposure. Havent left my house except to take the trash out since march 26th (my last day in the office)

It's good that you can work from home and stay busy during these very difficult times, it's as important to stay mentally well, as well as physically.
Hope you and your mum stay well.

Keep your chin up mate we will come out of this eventually.

It would be nice to think we are over the worst of it but I think caution is called for before we start to relax. The care homes escalation is particularly worrying from a deaths perspective but won't have any impact on our hospitals

Can't see that being the case, there will be commercial flights. You might need to prove it is for employment reasons not tourism but no chance the skies are being shut down for that length of time for everything except emergencies. We aren't even at that level of restriction now

There's loads of commercial flights now (obviously though, in my corner of the world, only around 15% of what their once was a few months back). The restrictions that come into it are the border / quarantine / immigration restrictions.

Watching GMTV right now and Piers Morgan is showing the Care Minister the front page from the Daily Mail announcing 4000 deaths in Care Homes and she was laughing at him. He had to ask her three times why she was laughing and told her that these figures weren't funny. He asked if the figures were accurate three or four times and she refused to answer him. Also asked about why Goves daughter got tested when care homes and frontline staff cant get tested........minister is laughing ....again and Morgan getting extremely irate at her for it and asked her again "why are you laughing"? Helen Whately is her name............ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING FROM THE CARE MINISTER.

Never thought I'd say this but Piers Morgan seems to be the only one holding the government to account. Fair play Piers.

BBC seem loathe to say anything bad about the Government..........I wonder why?

If you're right it was beyond stupid, but it just seems so stupid that it's hard to believe anyone with any scientific advisors would actually try implementing it.

Hardly surprising is it. You're talking about the same company that had a performer fall to his death from the rafters live on tv/ppv and still carried on with the show as though nothing had happened!

I’ve just watched GMTV too and I will be watching every morning now.

Piers Morgan certainly gave it to the disgusting Government health minister Helen Whately when she quite clearly laughed when asked to confirm the death of 4000 NHS and care workers.

What is wrong with these people.

She refused to answer any of the tough straight questions he asked including whether she would support pay rises for nhs workers in the future.

This is our government ladies and gentlemen!

The NHS is a frustrating topic in so many ways. We've also seen during this outbreak the roll out of telehealth on a mass scale in a matter of weeks. I've had firsthand experience of the glacial pace of that in 'peace time', despite the technology having been around for a decade or so. Similarly, I expect the notion of using mobile apps to monitor the health of people to become widespread by the end of this, which is also something that has been feasible for ages, but the pace of change has been soooo slow.

When we're out the other side of this, hopefully there will be some vital takeaways for how health can be done better and more efficiently.

I go to the doctor once every 3 months
He checks .heart ,blood pressure,and breathing
Then writes a script
Surely an app can do the first bit,send him the results and then he emails a script to the chemist
You can buy blood presure monitors etc fairly cheap for home use

That GMTV interview is probably the most painful and disgraceful interviews of any type I have ever seen in OVER 50 years.
