Succession Planning - Managerial Wishlist

We have clearly tried flavour-of-the-month-style managers:
Silva
Koeman
Martinez
Walker

We have tried solid old managers with no ceiling:

Benitez
Fat Sam
Dyche
Moyes
Smith

Carlo was a one off.

The last time we were successful as a team was when we had former players as managers:

Royle
Kendall
Harvey

SO based on the above I think we should start planning now for time under:
Ferguson
Baines
Coleman
Arteta it is🤣

Yes . Read his thread.
There may be some but that doesnt mean the argument should now be "stick with Moyes or fire him in the morning". Let him prove naysayers like me wrong and show that he can turn around our home form and figure out his erratic team selection. If he can by the end of the season, we will be sitting pretty and he should continue...if not, lets look to replace him in the summer...

He doesn't bring in the players, the recruitment team do, who will still be there once he leaves.

I like the bloke, but there is a lot of different caveats between both clubs.

I mean you'll never know unless you try, but you can't discount the running of these clubs when looking at the coach..

He fits there mould.

He doesnt need to bring in players, simply coach them. He's developed some outstanding talent while with Bournemouth and through playing them their levels have improved.

Moyes doesnt do that. Moyes has his favourites and doesnt play anyone on merit.

Huge gulf.

Because it's Bournemouth and he will get as long as he wants.
He will get 10 minutes here like all the others before he is hounded out.
Like it or not that is the fan base we have.

Were in 8th with limited player development and crap football.

If we were 12th playing attacking football and Dibling, Aznou, Armstrong and George playing lots of minutes i think the fans would get behind the manager far more than Moyes.

But we are not the same. There is no need to blood youngsters when we can buy the finished article.
A lot of these hip managers fail when they have to coach better players. TF has proved this.
If he'd had Bournemouth in the top 5 for a few years then he would be my choice but I am sick of taking a chance on the next best thing only to be disappointed once again.

Your post makes no sense.

"There is no need to blood youngsters when we can buy the finished article".

- Everton cant buy the finished article. Unless you're talking about gambles, punts and average players.

All I'm gonna say is: Moyes blocking us getting Truffert for 13m last January is all the evidence anyone should need that he needs to stay well away from how we spend upwards of £100m this summer.

100% ive been a big fan for a couple of seasons and when we were linked to him and Wesley with those talks rumoured...

...i thought we'd hit the jackpot.

Sadly...Moyes.

An absurd thing to say. How do you know if Iraola would be “no lower” than midtable or not? I’m sure Spurs expected Frank would be doing significantly better than Ange, but he was rotten.

Some people act like the squad is underperforming when it is actually the opposite.

Also, the level of pressure at Everton is on a totally different level to what one experiences at a club like Bournemouth.

If Moyes has us 8th then surely its common sense that a superior manager would have us at least the same.

How do we know we aren't playing our best team week in week out?
Moyes sees them every day in training yet we think we can pick the team better than him.

Have you been watching the games?

He doesnt select players on merit. Therefore his team selections are consistently terrible.

You're off your tits if you think his selctions are the best available.

So the question really is if you want a coach like Jose or a coach like Poch.

We've just signed a load of young players, and it seems like we're going to continue in that direction. Poch at spurs is exactly what we should be trying to emulate imo. Development of the young players we've signed should be a priority.

Moyes is a good manager but he's just not that guy. Too risk averse.

Spot on.

So Iraola is a superior manager? An assertion without proof.

He might be here that long, he might not. I can assure you of one thing though: either scenario wont send me out of my mind.
