Succession Planning - Managerial Wishlist

He's here until the end of next season minimum.

You can either get on board or go out of your mind banging your drum.

I think you'll find there are plenty satisfied with his performance right now.
Can envisage scenario where Coleman is given greater role and gets the job. It clear from Fulham game where Moyes was in stands that Seamus has bigger role in the back room set up than just a player of influence.

Remember he lost 3/4 of his defence. And they went for big money to RS, PSG & Madrid in part to his excellent coaching.

Look at the CB at 18 and Kroupi & now Rayan who hes brought in. The man is keen to develop young players.

With us, someone like him could build a young squad to challenge.

It's difficult to assess though because they obviously have a quality scouting and recruitment team to replace outgoings, same with ex-Brighton managers.

I really like him but would he be the same with our recruitment? Something needs changing fundamentally in the players we identify and bring in regardless of manager I would suggest.

I know he’s hated on here but I’d have Mourinho in a second. Sure he’d torch the place but doesn’t it need it?

If we were in the conference league with him at the helm I’d expect us to win it. At the moment I’d only hope we might, that’s the difference.

I just want the trophy drought to end and tbh if he came in and we had three wild years and he left us back in mid table but with a trophy in the closet I’d take it. He’d also go to absolute war against the kopites instead of paying reverence to them like half our managers do.

Love Jose but it's the equivalent of buying Lukaku now.

We need the next young, hungry and angry Jose desperate to succeed.

He's playing and developing young players. I take that to be the message rather than who is signing the players.

Ches Febregas...
His coaching style is a blend of the "Positional Play" he learned at Barcelona and the verticality he experienced in the Premier League.

Formation: He primarily utilizes a 4-2-3-1 or a flexible 4-4-2 defensive block.
Possession-Based: Fàbregas prioritizes dominating the ball, ranking among the top Serie A teams for ball retention and progressive passes.
The "Box" Midfield: He often uses inverted wingers or "two number 10s" to create numerical overloads in central areas, forcing opponents to collapse inward and leaving space for fullbacks.
Aggressive Pressing: His teams are known for high-intensity counter-pressing to win the ball back immediately after losing it.

Out of interest, why was that clear?

I haven't paid attention to Coleman on the sidelines or in the dugout, so I'm genuinely interested to hear about his contribution.

I'm of the opinion that he shouldn't even be considered as a squad option any more, but can't deny a steam of past and present players and managers sing his praises as a huge motivational presence. And doing his coaching qualifications ties in with that too.

I would have expected Moyes' current staff to take care of matchday organisation on the sidelines while he was in the stands, and wouldn't have expected Coleman to be front and centre of that.

All about opinions. What's certain is one has time on his side and the other is coming towards his end. We can't just carry on expecting Moyes to go on forever and if we want to implement a long term vision and plan then we need a younger coach obviously
Iraola is dream appointment for me.

Aggressive football
Generally knowledgeable and likeable
Track record of getting a prem club to perform to the next level
Track record of developing young talent fantastically
Track record of getting the absolute most out of his players

Start of the season I thought it was totally out of the question. But it seems he wants to stay in the prem. My hunch is Utd will want someone who's more proven at the top level...Spurs will appoint someone before he becomes available...Palace and Forest sideways or backwards moves...my real concern is if Newcastle get rid of Howe, I can see them going for him.

Someone needs to Inception-style start planting the seed in his mind that scousers are the basques of the UK

Basically word is he doesn't just want the 'biggest' job available but somewhere he'll be happy and stable working at a level above Bournemouth. I could see us convincing him that that's here

Agree with this. Many of the mentioned trendy coaches underwhelm when they leave the particular environment they thrived in - Frank being the latest example.

There is also the argument that many of them punch above their weight and therefore the perception is better than the actually reality if you watched it week in week out and followed it as closely as you do us.

Getting it right requires so many stars to align, the manager is an important piece of the puzzle for sure, but the modern game is also built on having a highly functioning backroom, technical, scouting & management team (etc) that all peak at the same time and work to an elite level. Anything less is unsustainable.

We have at least identified that we need to move in that direction with the structure we have tried to create. The next manager appointment is an absolutely key to avoid stalling but they can't do it all on their own. We also need to see signs that the other appointments are finding an edge in a highly competitive market place.

Perception is hell of a thing, my reading of that, was that Coleman was with him in the stands as his sounding board yes, but mainly because he was the one least needed pitch side. Where you can actually be an influence and get your message accross. Only Moyes will know.

Ah, didn't realise Coleman was with him in the stands.
I'd agree not too much to be read into it. A trusted sounding board, for sure. A big role in the back room setup? Doesn't sound like it.

Were in 8th with limited player development and crap football.

If we were 12th playing attacking football and Dibling, Aznou, Armstrong and George playing lots of minutes i think the fans would get behind the manager far more than Moyes.
You really would like us to be another Bournemouth. 12th?? Heard it all now. We are 8th after a bad week bet hey lets strive to be better and be 12th

More would get behind him? The only place I hear the Moyes out shouts are in here. In the real world everyone I meet are behind him.

If you think the likes of Dave would take 100m+ to be spent and 12th to show for it then where have you been hiding?
