Succession Planning - Managerial Wishlist

There was a strategy under Moshiri. He just chose to exert his authority when it suited him based on results.

And what makes you think we “have budget” under the new owners? They are businessmen who will invest as much as they think is sensible. They are in it to make money, not to be Abramovic.
There was zero strategy under moshiri. Buying anything that moved. No focus on value or return. No consistency of style across managerial appointments. Just spend and hope.

increases in our commercial revenue will translate to our budget - can’t really spend any other way these days. Unless of course you think they will just carpet bag us, but little evidence of that so far.

I agree on match day it doesn't seem to work but he must see it working in training is what I am saying.
We don't know how players are training. They could be lazy trainers but give all on a match day. Dele was like this for spurs and Jose refused to pick him because of it, Poch knew it and still picked him.
As I say we don't see them training so can't really knock Moyes for his selection. Subs on the other hand he should be better at but then again he's seen them in training and will know if they can impact the game or not.
So the question really is if you want a coach like Jose or a coach like Poch.

We've just signed a load of young players, and it seems like we're going to continue in that direction. Poch at spurs is exactly what we should be trying to emulate imo. Development of the young players we've signed should be a priority.

Moyes is a good manager but he's just not that guy. Too risk averse.

The idea was to have Brands running things, but Mosh wouldn’t stay away.

It’s not fundamentally different. The club had its biggest chance early with Moshiri, but blew it.

Turns out the Premier League is actually quite hard!

Money was spent but there was never a chance to crack on and break the mold at Goodison. You just cant attract the type of quality player that gets you lift off required.

No one's calling for Moyes to be sacked in the morning.
A few are calling for change in the summer.
There's plenty who've seen Moyes manage Everton for 13 years now.
Given the shocking home performances and lucky away escapes, combined with poor selections/set ups/subs
It's hardly fair to call people who want a change in 5 months time 'clowns'.

why am i arguing the amount of times

people have said to sack him

loads mate even at HT in games

saying it

I think the frustration that a lot of people have Matty is that we're 8th despite all of issues that we mostly all agree on - fullback situation, Gana/garner midfield, not using the squad, home form etc.

It begs the question, what position would we be in if we were actually playing our best side every week and making the changes/choices that seem obvious to most people. That's where the frustration with Moyes comes from despite people rightly pointing out that we're in a good position currently.

yearh totally this - i’m meaning this
