Hey Finners, if memory serves your lovely country is not a member of NATO... Is there any change in Suomi public opinion on this topic, given the events of the last few days?
True. We are not. And probably wont be in long time. This attack has naturally made many people go on panic mode and are now screaming "join NATO NOW" but doesnt work like that.

Considering where I'm from, where I live and what I do for said life, I'd say I'm very much educated on what Russian propaganda is.

If you wanna watch RT, it's great, go watch it, you can do so online, they'll definitely be very pro-Russia. Except in English, that's the difference. But it's what it is - Russian propaganda. How great Russia is doing. The greatness of the Russian army. The Russian people are all in favour of Putin and behind him.
Back in the day I loved tuning into Radio Moscow and Radio Tirana. Passed the time on long winter evenings listening to comedy ?

Big battle going on at Antonov airport. Russian airborne assault captured it earlier today now Ukrainians are blasting the hell out of it and are now assaulting with special forces in an attempt to recapture it.

Forza Ukraine!!!

Unconfirmed reports from Ukrainian defence ministry that Ukraine had regained control of the airport. In his own words Russian forces holding the airport have been “liquidated”.

Our 'take on it' is no different, it's still out and out propaganda from our side. Vested interests. This is economics at war, nothing else.
Depends what you mean by "our". Its not that difficult to find more than one source of independent reporting. Tbf, today there has been a lot of misinterpreted or wrong reporting and thats by design as well, of course.

RT has never been anything other than a propaganda tool. It rarely reports on anything internal and certainly not anything negative towards the state or government despite massive internal economic issues. A pension crisis looming for Russian citizens - not a dickie bird on it from RT.

There's a reason its offered in HD for free on any broadcasting platform that will take it.

I haven't, because... well, age really, but my parents (and their parents etc.) have told me about it. However, we didn't really have a choice to switch to many other stations lol

Also these stations are now the butt of many jokes, they have a little, er, type? Genre? I guess? that goes down quite well usually. As with jokes about S(ch)tirlitz.

Sure, but our take on it is that of the non-dictatorship that harms its own people. Also it's partial to Ukraine, obviously, but it's not like no one is reporting anything about the Russian side of things.
We have governance that knowingly harms its own people, for many, many years. We live by a system that pays off debt with lives.
It's the fake morality about defending the people of Ukraine that is nauseating. No one batted an eyelid 8 years ago. And wars like this only exist because capital is made available either through accrued savings or loans from banks, and despite the embargoes money will still be available, and the 'investors' will want a return. This is strategy over resources and nothing else, the 'propaganda' on both sides istgeatre, a bit of garnish to drum up the tub thumpers. It's clickbait.

Sort of is, sort of isn't - they've gone through a de-nuclearisation for quite a while now.
Not really 'sort of' - Ukraine has zero ability to utilise any kind of nuclear weapon. There's no way they could have maintained and paid for the upkeep and delivery mechanisms needed to do that without the west/Russia being acutely aware of it.

How?

Respectfully the US or NATO sending in troops is not a possibility.
At the risk of sounding pedantic, it most certainly IS an option.

Dozens of NATO countries, including the USA, possess well-equipped armed forces - we have been told repeatedly that many of these countries have shipped high-tech weapons and munitions to Ukraine in advance of this horrific development, so it's safe to presume that this equipment is at least as good as the best already present in the Ukrainian military.

The troops and equipment exist. The will to use them however, is absent. Macron, Johnson, Trudeau and Biden, amongst dozens of other leaders, are very happy to talk about how unacceptable Putin's naked aggression is... But actions speak louder than words, and the actions taken thus far demonstrate to Putin that actually, provided he essentially pays a cash penalty, his annexation of Ukraine is acceptable to "the West", because the major players in NATO don't feel the urge to go any further than that.

Point being, and I'm sure there are nukes based in Ukraine, if Ukraine is desperate and they have control it's easy to see that desperation translate onto the battlefield
It's whether you see this then as desperate times? Ukraine falls but would they want to kill millions to save themselves?

Like I say , the circumstances to push that button are far deeper than any of us could comprehend.
