That would be properly insane, plus it would wipe out about half of Russia

Yup, would make no sense whatsoever to sabotage the containment area

However it would be a good way to hold the west to ransom and prevent US / G7 / EU / NATO military intervention... The Russians weren't great at preventing catastrophes at Chernobyl in the first place, imagine what they could achieve if they deliberately tried to mess around.

I suspect the biggest threat to Fox news watchers would be if someone said Putin was going to forcibly remove the LGBTQ community from Russia and drop them covertly in Wyoming.

It's barn pot thinking from someone who is either trying to stoke a particularly stupid and naive audience or who is particularly stupid and naive themselves.

I saw this and although it's credibility can't be assured, it would suggest they have advanced about 40miles. The Dnieper will be the Ukraine's defence line.

It'll be interesting to see how they bridge the river and how much it costs them.

Unless Sleepy Joe announces the deployment of US troops in large numbers as part of a wider NATO task force entering Ukraine, nothing he says is going to make any difference to Putin.

You do wonder what developments are taking place around the world in military and espionage settings... Thinking of things like submarines going completely dark / silent and getting into position to escalate matters, or intelligence agents making key individuals disappear. Horrible prospects, but when faced with tyranny what other choice is there?

Cyber attacks on key infrastructure and banks would be a sensible strategy. Oligarchs losing dirty money and cryto won't be something they'll publicise.

As has happened in the past, manipulating water and electrical supplies can hurt the economy and public moral. Communications and data are pivotal too.

With a lot of Russian assets tied up fighting in or around Russia, they'll be wary of being probed elsewhere. The issue is how much they're willing to do.
