100k Russian troops on the border with Ukraine.

Diplomatic solutions all but exhausted. No common ground between NATO and Russia.

The US state dept have warned that Russia will seek to create situations that lead to a pretext for their invasion.

US have sanctions package ready to go as soon as first tanks start rolling across the border.

Putin has threatened to cut gas pipelines to Western Europe as a direct response.

There are real fears that Russia will attempt to cut subsea fibre cables effectively bringing down the internet as s response to US sanctions.

Ukraine hit today with massive Cyber attacks - purportedly from ultra right Polish groups, however analysis shows that the Polish grammar used in the texts was of poor quality and not believed to come from native Polish speakers.

It’s time to drop your cocks and grab your socks

Sanctions aren’t going to do much.

If he invades there’s got to be a big increase in NATO forces on the border and a degree of military expansion (certainly the planned cuts to the military need to be reversed).

NATO or the US on its own have already said they wont put boots on the ground.

Their response will be hard hitting sanctions to effectively cut off Russia from the global financial markets in the hope that puts internal pressure on Putin to stand down.

However there are reports doing the rounds that Russia has plans to retaliate against sanctions by cutting undersea cables and stopping gas flows to Western Europe.

The U.K. defence secretary said earlier this week that any attacks on undersea cables would be seen as an act of war

The spiral is starting. Your move Vlad

Didn't know you were so into spending money on the military lad. Tongue firmly in cheek.

Also sanctions schmanctions, as long as we're still paying the gas and oil bills, and financing Russia nothing will change. We're just pushing them into the arms of China.

I would be worried if we did implement sanctions. If Russia decides to stop the gas supply in response to anything that the west does, it'll cost lives and create mayhem for Europe.

And all because the US wanted access to the shale oil deposits so they had to destabilise the country with a coup.

Not boots on the ground in Ukraine, but there absolutely should be a big increase in the troops along the border in NATO countries - the aim of this will be to try to intimidate everyone (certainly the Baltics and Poland) and its got to be responded to. If Finland and Sweden ask to join NATO this should also be accepted, the Finns especially.

In terms of economics, if he wants to shut the gas off then that is in his power to do so (it is their gas after all). I'd hope that would provoke those countries who are dependent on that source to reassess their energy requirements in that case. If they started physically attacking infrastructure (like cables) then that really would be a massive escalation and it would require a proportionate response.

I do not fully understand the false flag concept. They will give fabricated reasons to invade or something?
Kind of. In this instance it’s believed that Russian special forces teams have infiltrated Ukrainian territory and will then launch attacks against their own Russian troops.

This will then be used as an excuse for Russia to retaliate by invading Ukraine. They would say that Ukraine attacked them first.

PS hope all them troops are jabbed and will adhere to social distancing should conflict arise.
Socially-distanced hand-to-hand fighting.

It was used successfully by Germany to instigate WWII with carefully selected SS troops, dressed as Polish troops, attacking a German broadcasting station.
