This is absolutely horrible. Now you know why we Finns have deep-water distrust agains Russia. Traditionally Finland hasnt been eager to join NATO but naturally now many feel that it is a must. Personally I think it's emotional reaction and isnt based in reality. Also if we would (suprisingly) ask to join NATO it could be big mistake. NATO option should have been taken way earlier. It's too late to scream when the s*** is in the kecks already.

Chernobyl’s just a radioactive wasteland, so I wouldn’t imagine it having much tactical advantage - apart from the incredibly dangerous exposed reactor core

At a minimum, it enables:

- A last-ditch doomsday device
- An "act of terrorism" against the Russian forces guarding it which "shows how desperate and sick the Ukranians are"

It also happens to be positioned squarely between the Belarusian border and Kiev, so it's not a spot where the Russians would want a bunch of Ukranians operating behind the battle lines. That's the most probable reason for knocking it over.
