Should Moyes be in charge for the last two games?

Some of that's going a bit far, wack. Anyone who taking any interest in this knows who Everton are, and our place in the
football world.

I might talk about that in another thread, one day.

Maybe you should talk to young lids and a few foreign people who have a limited knowledge of football.

None of them know our history, the name of Everton doesnt ring out, we dont have our corners anymore.

The games out there and we no longer play it.

And ive changed my mind re Moyes.

At first I didnt think he should be anywhere near our Club anymore, but on reflection, why not? Hes earned the right to see out the Season, theres still a small glimmer of hope for Europe, hes still Manager of Everton.

Just hope he gets the receiption he deserves on Sunday.

Really? Can you fill me in please?

I wasn't aware he had signed and sealed and done PR with a rival whilst still staying on to manage his current team...

No, but everyone has known for months that he's going. Is there any real difference in practical terms? He's just seeing out his contract. I wonder what RM fans are saying online

Edit. I'm talking about Mourinho.

We really have pissed gloden opportunities up the wall for years now, Moyes being the architect-in-chief of the vast majority of the them. If we had furnished him with even a handful of millions more a season we'd be challenging the top 2 and we would have, at the very least, earnt a tremendous compensatory package if not retained our manager's services altogether.
Moyes knows we're a great club, as did many of the good players who have served under him. One by one they were forced to leave before their time because the powers-that-be couldn't offer even a slice of the ambition necessary.
Moyes has given us good service. He's honoured his contracts. He has brought us, pound-for-pound, a tremendous return on investments. And know this: if we could have given just a bit more, this isn't a conversation we'd be having. He'd be here, Arteta, Lescott maybe Rooney would be here, and we'd be challenging for things. If you want to blame Moyes for leaving after 11 years of considerable quality, then go ahead. I think this, frankly, says it all:

Bloody Aussies causing trouble again.

Still, hate seeing the "you've probably never been to a game" bull**** brought up everytime someone from otherside of world voices an opinion. (I have been btw). We're all entitled to opinions on it.

And that comment illustrates why this is such a bad idea.

It has split the Everton family just at the very time we need to be closing ranks.

Our manager has gone up the road but we are engaged in a virtual civil war.

It stands to sense Moyes should been put on "gardening leave".

There is no counter argument to that.

It stands to sense Moyes should have been at the game on Sunday and received the appreciative applause his time with us merited.

He could have even came on the pitch for the traditional last game lap.

These two things are not mutually exclusive.

Both could and should have happened.

Then we'd all be moving on together.

That's the way any other self resepcting major football club would have dealt with it.

One man is responsible for this division among us.

Mr. William Kenwright.

I have now come to the conclusion that this gentleman's continued stewardship of EFC has reached toxic levels.

*Applauds

This is getting really tiresome. You can all blame Kenwright, Moyes, Ferguson or anyone you like for causing division amongst fans. However, those of you insulting other posters for having a different take on the matter are the only ones responsible for any real division on this forum.

You're behaving like complete tits. And anyone who comes back with the old rhetoric about me not caring as much as them can just fcuk right off. Get a grip. Or go on gardening leave yourselves ffs.

If it was Real Madrid, or Schalke or Inter I wouldn't argue with letting him see out the last two games, but in business terms he's going to a competitor (Man U in our league) and on principle he should be escorted off the premises by three burly security guards carrying his personel possession in an empty copier paper box before being duffed up in the car park, "and stay out!"

Only joking!

As if i'd let him take his personel possesions with him!, helllllooooooo ebay!

(really, I am only joking around)

Im not blaming nobody of this situation...why should i?

Moyes did what every manager would have done. Moyes loves Everton, and i think he is classy when trying to help BK to sign right man to the job.

my main concerne is Baines/Fellaini duo.

Huge changes coming up lads. Prepare your selves for summer of thrills and chills

This is a query as cannot remember exactly what happened, but when did Howard Kendall announce he was leaving us for Bilbao? Was it before the season ended and Harvey was appointed or did he leave after the last game of the season not knowing which club he would be managing or did he have Bilbao lined up whilst still employed by us?

Anyway off to work, changed my shifts around, so I can now go tomorrow so that I can show my appreciation to Moyes for managing Everton.

You would think the fact Moyes categorically duped the fans and possibly Kenwright (although I doubt it) would unify the support in uproar.

He hasn't waited till the summer, he didn't sort it after the January window yet some still bollock on about a man of integrity!!!

Forget what you think of his managerial abilities he has colluded with Ferguson - it is now on record the glazers knew in Feb, the idea ol' ginger wasn't tipped the wink by his golf partner fergie is "chemical ali" bullsht.

Of course just as complete tools believed him so it is here - you dopey chumps waffling on about how good bad or indifferent Moyes is are missing the point (as effin' usual) - he shafted us and if you really care for the club you don't like it.

Hence pack your BAGS Moyes and fck right off - TODAY!

That means everybody. So, is everybody missing your point?

You're not making sense.

There are a number of people speaking for me and I wish you wouldn't. Stop generalising.

Moyes is the manager and should be in the dug out for the last 2 games. Obviously, that makes me 'small time' and not a 'real supporter' and 'not passionate' about Everton. What a joke. What an absolute small minded imbecilic 'I'm a better Evertonian than you' oddball reasoning.

We as a club have utmost respect from most football supporters in the country and so does Davey Moyes.

So let the club look small time and bitter by sacking him. That will show the world that 'we are Everton and we have great passion and no one messes with us'. It will definitely 'fire' the players up will that. Can picture it now at Finch Farm, 'Kenwright has sacked Moyes, get in there 'no one messes with Everton, we have pride, we have power, we are bad arsed mother that takes no crap off nobody'.

And the rest of the football world would look on in opened mouthed disbelief.

Well, hullefc, I think you've got it dead right. Except for your last sentence.

I don't think the rest of the football world would be at all surprised with that scenario. So, let's surprise them.

Nobody knows whether David Moyes knew earlier that he was in the frame for the United job or he didn't but it's not the point anyway. He is fulfilling his contract as he is obliged to do but I feel this should not extend to any first team affairs for the obvious reason that he cannot give Everton his full commitment now. But I wish him good luck for the future. Not.

Magicjuan - now that we've found something to agree on - can you please use paragraphs for your great posts?!
Really would like to, however, wether I use a PC, laptop or tablet I'm unable to, maybe there is a settings issue I'm not aware of?,. Doesn't happen amywhere else. :)

He was clearly emotional about leaving us in the press conference yesterday and I think he is also going there with some trepidation at how it could all go wrong for him.
However I much I acknowledge that I think he has done an excellent job with us and the "well done Moysie" moments for me far out weigh the negatives it just doesn't seem right that I guy whose job will now be to get points off us and maybe players off us too on terms that suit his new club rather than ours should be centre stage with us tomorrow. The chance of him not knowing that he would be getting SAF's strong recommendation seems a bit unlikely so his statement yesterday that he was planning to sign and planning pre season does not add up with the we'll wait and see where we are at the end of the season. When he goes there he will be using all his knowledge of us and our players to get an advantage over us in games and probably transfers too so for me it should be place in the stands, warm round of applause for those who wish to and only fellas in the dugout and on the pitch whose interests are best served by an everton win and who have been 100% focused on us this week. If he was just taking a break or going to non direct rivals I would say bigger send off but this all feels a bit messy.
