Should Moyes be given more responsibility?

For me the best moments in Moyes career were when he was in charge of all operations. This was also true of when he was best at West Ham. It seemed to go wrong there when a new DOF was appointed or so it could be interpreted.

I feel concerned that we may or may not have people in charge of transfers who might be buying players Moyes wouldnt agree with. This creates a conflict of interest and could lead to us not getting the best out of our manager and therefore the team.

If i were in charge i would give Moyes full control over a 5 year period and I would firmly believe we would be in a significantly stronger position at the end of that period.

….i think the problem now than in Moyes’ first spell is that the game is much more global. We know if there was a Championship game on telly on a cold and wet Monday night then Moyes would be there, indeed just how he identified Tim Cahill.

It’s impossible now for one man so modern day managers rely on recommendations to top-up on players they’ve identified themselves. I don’t agree that the DOF system doesn’t work, I just don’t think we’ve found the right Manager/DOF combination.

The recent summer window was hardly encouraging.
