Koeman Not Confident On Barkley

It will be a shame to lose Ross, but we just can't compete with any of "the big six" when it comes to wages.

Even the contract we've offered Rom is far less lucrative than the deal that bloody James Milner's on.

The fact that 70k + per week isn't enough for him to play for the club that gave him his break is utterly pathetic. It's really quite shameful, and shows why footballers are so out of touch.

He wont be missed.

I see where you're coming from, but in relative terms it's a pittance.

Yaya Toure is on a quarter of a million Pounds a week.

A mate of mine said he saw Koeman and Barkley holding hands across a table in a Starbucks shop yesterday afternoon. My mate said that he overheard Koeman saying something along the lines of:

"Ross, next season you will be playing for one of the following two teams: Everton U23s or Birmingham City. Birmingham's rubber faced manager, Harry Redknapp, thinks you would make a good squad player. But OK, that's football."

Apparently Koeman then calmly got up and sauntered out of the shop.

The problem everyone wetting the bed ITT is facing is they are directing all their rage at Koeman (for what reason I couldn't possibly imagine...).

This is not a power-play from Ronald Koeman, it's a power-play from Everton Football Club. At long last, the club has decided not to let players and agents walk all over it and this is the result. If Ross is refusing to engage in a dialogue with the club, then we would be daft to tell him to take all the time he needs and to let us know when he's ready. Individual players can't dictate the policy and movements of an entire club.

If you think it's been handled poorly, fine. But don't use it as an excuse to scream at the manager, because this wasn't his personally-concocted masterplan. It's Everton standing up for itself for the first time in a bloody long time.

I agree with most mate. But look at it the other way (even tho I think Barkley is bein greedy) are we not ambitious enough? Why was we willing to throw silly wages at other players in summer but not Barkley? It sends wrong messages to lose one of your own players to any club mate it's like well we aren't big enough or can't give him what he wants so we have to sell. It's a never ending circle until were successful

Yeah it's a shame to lose him from that point of view, but as someone else in here said, the sadness is from an emotional point of view, not necessarily a football one.

I would much prefer him to stay as I've been a giant fan since his debut, even when he has been poor, but him (or anyone for that matter) leaving wouldn't cripple our team. If he wants to leave for whatever reason he has, sweet. He can do so on our terms.

I agree with some of your recent posts but this one is nonsense. Everton often spin things.

this report says £80k a week. From April 2017

http://metro.co.uk/2017/04/14/ronal...-future-before-the-end-of-the-season-6574827/

Everton boss Ronald Koeman has told Ross Barkley he must make up his mind on his future before the end of the season.

The playmaker is stalling over signing a new deal at Goodison Park and has just 13 months to run on his existing contract.

The Toffees have offered the 23-year-old a lucrative new deal thought to be worth around £80,000-a-week

-----------------------------

'around' £80k a week. That could mean £70k a week like @davek posted earlier. The £100k a week would be more than Lukaku is on and I don't believe that for a second. £70k a week would be more than Gana, Barry, and on parity with Baines (who Koeman has said has been one of our best players this season) so that makes sense to me. The 100k a week offer is just lies from the club fed to the press imo.

Metro isn't reputable enough, pure guesswork from them.

If he took a step back and looked at himself objectively, his quality as a player, his goal and assists return, the fact England have dropped him, and then still thought he was worth more than £80k p/w he'd be seriously deluded. It's an insane amount of money to play footy for your boyhood club. If he thinks he's worth more then he can go and find out the grass ain't greener.

Ultimately IF we tried to say why he was sold after the event mate, not a single person would believe us - it'd be we wanted to sell, sell to buy, a convenient excuse and same old Everton being rolled out as the reasons by the fans.

THIS way, it's plain and clear that if he leaves it is down to the player wanting to move clubs
Sums up the situation perfectly mate.
