we have always had a wage cap so what's happened since this rich supposed owner has come in - nothing much as BK is still there and we look to be the same selling club!

See I don't think this a selling club situation as the player isnt saying he wants out like others have done in the past and there dosent seem to be any big interest in signing him.
If anything the club/manager don't value him that much and he is stuck in no mans and without a club desperatly wanting him.
A talent like Ross will go - he is still young why we never secured his deal before Lukaku's to me is a mystery with the clock running down on his - we even gave Guinness Gibson a contact FGS!

The problem with your view, is that Kenwright is not calling the shots in regards to finance. That is down to Alex Ryazantsev. I've had the pleasure of working alongside Alex on a project, and he's one of the best I've seen at what he does. He is the person who is leading the search for investors, alongside two of the best financiers in the City of London.

Both Ross and Gibson have been offered the exact same number of contracts. The difference is one accepted it, the other did not. Maybe you live in a different universe, but you cant force people sign contracts. They would be invalid if you did.

Just because there is money there doesn't mean you throw it at players without question. The contract still needs to make financial sense for the club and offering huge money beyond the actual value of a player like Barkley (Potentially very good but nowhere near a top player yet) is only going to make it harder when negotiating any deals for other players.
Agree so why did we let RB contact run down and chase Lukaku's when it lasted longer RK clearly does not rate him imo!

I don't know if the club just twiddled their thumbs till the last year of his deal. Maybe they've been looking to tie him down since the start of the season and now it's a case of going public to put a bit of pressure on or so his leaving doesn't come as a bolt out of the blue.
A lot of stuff gets said on here along the lines of what is or is not happening behind the scenes but who here, apart from @CJR, is ITK?

No chance, one club blowing money on players wages might be one reason but Roos himself hasnt done enough to justify it
