Koeman Not Confident On Barkley

How is that relevant to anything?

Barkley's peers and therefore his point of comparison are other professional footballers. If he values himself at £150k, that is his prerogative to negotiate towards that via his agent.

He's done nothing unusual or out of order - indeed, he's done what thousands of people in any other job do every day; stay quiet, negotiate professionally, get on with his contracted job.

The size of the wage is totally irrelevant.
Screw that, YOU brought up the "a bag of Quavers a week and half a Toblerone". Do NOT come out and say 'what does that have to do that with?' Bring up 'well he should want more' but you went ahead and made it as if £100k / week is somehow doing him a disservice as he is a boyhood supporter of the club that employs him.

Well sentiments aside, in a bit ross!,

Is also exactly what I'd be saying to any other player dragging their heels on a new lucrative contract to sign to the mighty blues, be apart or do one, plenty more bellends with studs outhere

I hear from good sources that theylre offering him less than Mirallas.

This has been my inkling. I think we've offered him 60-75k a week max. Koeman just doesn't trust him enough to sanction £100k a week, despite what some press reports say. Daniel Sturridge gets £120K a week at Liverpool !

Mate, you are absolutely delusional. £100k is WELL more than most supporters earn a fn YEAR. What kind of work do you do that you think £100k is "a bag of Quavers a week and half a Toblerone".

I don't care what his agent's job is, it's ultimately HIS decision. ffs, I cannot believe you just compared a contract for an above average footballer at £100k/week as being that.

I can't believe you've tried to rationalise any wages that footballers earn. It's monopoly money, let the agent and club get on with it and we'll soon see what the outcome is.

No reason for believing this but I think he'll sign.

At this point I would be very shocked.

I think, given whats been said in public, that his relationship with Ronny is somewhat strained, of course nobody has any idea whats been said in private, but Ronnys words dont scream "STAY" to me, if anything they say "INABIT".

No, I was responding to you saying "screw him" for wanting £150k, like there's an arbitrary top amount he should aspire to. He's entitled to value himself at £500k a week if he wants to, that is entirely his prerogative and it has absolutely NOTHING to do with a supporters wage for their job.

Constructive dismissal.

Koeman has never wanted him.

We have to put up with class players leaving when they cant work with a manager who wont be here more than two years.

Crazy.

Someone at the top of the club needs to step in here and offer a big contract and stop this haemorrhaging of talent.

Exactly!

So in that case, three outcomes:

  • The asset is unaffordable and should offloaded because the club doesn't value the asset.
  • The agent folds and accepts the offer on the table.
  • The club decides to negotiate further and reassess the value of the asset and make a further offer.

That's all we're at right now. Barkley may want to leave, but I'd be astonished if that were the case. I think one of the three above scenarios is very likely, and we're in a limbo of inaction right now other than Koeman's loud mouth in press conferences.

First team players like Coleman, Mirallas and Davies etc signed new deals well before the season ends. What I find amusing is this contract scenario regarding Barkley has been ongoing for a couple of months. Koeman even openly discussed this issue and set a deadline. However, according to Koeman he got no answer or response from Barkley and his agent. If you want to stay, either the player himself or his agent talk to the club but in this case Koeman said he heard nothing.
