Koeman Not Confident On Barkley

When was the last time an agent stayed pip-squeak silent and out of the media during a high profile contract 'negotiation? Maybe more to it than meets the eye.
Also might make more sense of this strange claim that he's off to West Ham.

Barkley uses the Wasserman agency (who David Moyes' son works for!).

"The world's fourth most valuable sports agency Wasserman Media Group and massive European soccer agency Mondial Promotion are now combined by way of an acquisition. The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed. Wasserman, focused on representing athletes in American football, baseball, basketball, golf and soccer manages over 1,500 clients with a contract value under management of over $2.3 billion per a September 2015 analysis by Jason Belzer"

They are an increasingly influential agency and might be trying to make a lot of money from a Ross Barkley sale.

He is though. Him and Rom.

You think we'd have had a decent season without them???
I think first half Gueye has been a better player considerably and Schneiderlin second half. And who said 'without them'? I said if what Tubey said was right, he was thinking he should be getting paid top earner at the club or on par. He's not anywhere near as important to the team as Lukaku is.

It's a dangerous 'game' to be playing wiht your boyhood club.

And I didn't say "top earner" - but he probably thinks (and rightly so) that he should be rewarded for his efforts given he's not anywhere near being a top earner now and the club is expected to spend megabucks this summer.

Most important stat there is "final third passes" by the way - he makes us tick.

How much a week do you think he deserves? About 80k seems right to me. If the 150k a week he reportedly asked for is true then he needs to do one asap.

I think in the current market that he's worth around £100k a week comfortably. Ashley Williams is apparently on around £70k, Bolasie around the same - Barkley is worth considerably more than them.

I completely understand Barkley aiming for £150k as a negotiating position, and wouldn't baulk at him getting £120-130k. He's worth it.

An excuse to slate Koeman?

Look, Barkley does not want to be here. He has 12 months left in his contract if he is not signing he will be sold.

I hate modern football if homegrown players need 120k a week. Out of touch, precious, prima donnas.

They don't need it - they simply get it. It's called market value. It's not unique to football. Again, if I'm working in the Everton store, I won't take £2 an hour just because I'm a fan if I can get £8 an hour.

How do you know that mate?

Oh, you don't. Shocker.

How do you know he wants to stay then?

If he wants to stay, sign the new contract and not saying nothing to the club. Yes or no. That's what Koeman said.

Contract on the table and he is not signing so you think he wants to stay lol? Monday is the deadline.

I don't think someone on 8 quid a hour looking a better wage is the same as someone who already gets 4 million a year looking more cash. If you're still motivated by cash when you have more than you could physically spend, then you are one sad individual.

Kane is on around £80K per week - if Ross feels he deserves more than that he's kidding himself. Spurs won't pay him more than £80k per week so he either isn't after money and just wants out the city, or he is after big money warming a bench at City.

No one knows exactly how much they earn. What makes you think the market value is?

The club must think they have already offered the market value not the player though.

Or or... and bare with me here... maybe he wants to stay but is wanting to negotiate the pay for his services in a contracted job by using the services of a professional whose job it is to get him the best possible deal, who is ignoring arbitrary deadlines by a loudmouth egotist in press conferences because it isn't conducive to the interests of their client.

As wildly unrealistic as that sounds apparently.
