It was.Hope that was not the guy who told you someone inside the club signed Niasse for Martinez.
Find it hard to believe he is wanting £150,000 a week. Where else would he get anywhere near that. Apparently Kane is on £100,000 a week and Spurs aren't Barkley more than that. Don't think the other teams that could afford £150,000 a week for him would actually want him at that wage level.
I earn frig all and I've never once went to my boss demanding a pay rise. I've got on with my work and I hope that will be fairly recognised over time.
Good for you - but, again, I have no idea what your situation has to do with Barkleys. You are within your rights to be happy with your wage, be unhappy, think you're overpaid, request to negotiate it for any value you wish or whatever.
The size of Barkley's wage to yours or anybody elses is completely irrelevant - the only opinion that matters is Everton's; whether they believe what the employee is requesting is good value for the business. If it is, offer the contract. If you think there's wiggle room, offer a lower one and negotiate it. If it simply isn't, offload the asset to another business who values the services of that employee to the extent the employee wishes for.
There's no room for emotion in this, and that's why a fan of the club that Ross Barkley is is 100% totally in the right to leave any and every action on his contract to his agent, because otherwise he's wide open to not receiving the compensation he can get for his talents.
Constructive dismissal.
Koeman has never wanted him.
We have to put up with class players leaving when they cant work with a manager who wont be here more than two years.
Crazy.
Someone at the top of the club needs to step in here and offer a big contract and stop this haemorrhaging of talent.
Why was Ross contract not dealt with last year instead of offering Lukaku big money when his contract ran longer?First team players like Coleman, Mirallas and Davies etc signed new deals well before the season ends. What I find amusing is this contract scenario regarding Barkley has been ongoing for a couple of months. Koeman even openly discussed this issue and set a deadline. However, according to Koeman he got no answer or response from Barkley and his agent. If you want to stay, either the player himself and his agent talk to the club but in this case Koeman said he heard nothing.
I'd respect your sources but believe my own.So if I said that i'd heard he'd been offered. £120K pw , how would that sit it ?
That's why I said in a later post mate that the internal politics are hugely significant here.If this was to happen then our club really would be in chaos. When the boardroom starts to influence the playing personnel, the tactics or, frankly, anything to do with the sporting side of the organisation then that typically leads to sporting collapse. If they believe that Barkley is more important than Koeman or his vision for the playing side of the club then their only option is to sack Koeman. Instantly sending the message that a player is more important than the manager.

Ross has been criticised more than any player this season by RK - while others who play poor just got under his radar - Barry is finished yet seems to play or come on as a sub - we need to keep Class not threaten them to sign !
Imo he is pushing good talent out of the club if Ross does not want to sign there are reasons - RK had problems at other clubs we are his 11 management post in some capacity one team striked against him - Southampton Mane fell out with him yet is the other lots best forward it works both ways - blaming Ross for not signing deadlines imo is very unprofessional by him in man management!
His statement today is out of order let's do our dirty launders in house please!

I dont know if the board and Koeman are in synch or not. But my guess is that they are not and that Koeman's public statements have ruffled feathers. Certainly it cant have helped when the club are trying to preserve the integrity of the club that Moshiri has publicly stated he's committed to - ie to keep all our major talents here - and Koeman is issuing bald inflammatory statements like this.
Again I could not disagree more. He is an adult of 23. He needs to grow a set of balls and answer the question. Do I want to play for everton or do I want to play for someone else. Do I want to be grateful of the fact I get paid well over £5m a year to do a job I love, or do I want to earn even more money, and keep earning more and more and be solely motivated by my bank balance. A pathetic sad individual if he decides it's the latter. Utter embarassment if he's not grateful of nearly £6m a year.
I agree. Just seemed some people in the thread seem to think he is holding out for £150k which seems like bull excrement to me...Not sure he wants 150k, would imagine he at least wants his wage to have 6 numbers tho.
That may be true but the suggestion that people higher up in the club should go around the manager on playing matters is never the answer. I don't disagree that Koeman's recent comments on the Barkley issue have been inadvisable from a business perspective but on the other hand I can't understand Barkley's current position either. As other posters have said, Barkley is not obliged to sign a contract with us and would be within his rights to run down his contract entirely if that is what he chooses to do, what I can't understand is what he gains from this current stand off, he will get market appropriate (to paraphrase another poster) compensation here or elsewhere either way. Neither Koeman nor Barkley are coming out of this with a great deal of credit IMO.That's why I said in a later post mate that the internal politics are hugely significant here.

OK, my misunderstanding you then. Apologies. No, I was responding to you saying "screw him" for wanting £150k, like there's an arbitrary top amount he should aspire to. He's entitled to value himself at £500k a week if he wants to, that is entirely his prerogative and it has absolutely NOTHING to do with a supporters wage for their job.
