A final point on Screech ; never mind Timmy ourt of position , Felliani has played behind the striker , midfield holder , wide , and now as our creative hub . This lad too is only young and doesn't hardly speaka-da-lingo . Yes , he got caught in Lisbon , but the point was he was looking to attempt to dribble , i.e, create , where others passed sideways / backwards . He put his hand up . Fukd up , granted , but put his hand up . Same yday , was our most creative force yday again . He's sorted the bookings thing out too . Get him settled- in a specific role - and he'll be fine .
Wil score in the Derby .

What is his best postion then?

Can't believe Goat missed the blatant put down of The Mout.

I havent watched him this season, ive moved on, he would have shone for us, like a silver coin in a pile of horsecrap. Instead we have Fellaini.

We won't know until all are fit , but I'd wager the forward pushing one of a 4 , if he goes that way . His versatility gives Moyes options . Indeed was a pre-requisite in signing him .

And Rodwell can take the ball off his back four and distribute, something neither Fellaini and Cahill do nor are they naturals in this area. If your happy with midfielders who pass the way there facing and give it straight back to the defence then fair enough, but I'm not.

Rodwell is the one who drops deep, takes the ball, turns and distributes. It certainly isn't Cahill or Fellaini despite there obvious strengths in forward positions. The speed and accuracy of Rodwell's passing is a massive part of our game at the moment and will be until Arteta returns.

We could weigh up the strengths of all three players and say what they do and don't do, the fact of the matter is Tim Cahill has been out of form, more so than both Rodwell and Fellaini, yet he's not allowed to be 'rested' or 'dropped' because of what he's done in the past.

It doesn't work like that, if Tim isn't offering us anything then someone else deserves a go, someone like Yakubu. That's football, you should be judged on your performances. Am I writing Cahill off? Far from it, he'd be in my team most weeks. Is he undroppable? Not a chance.

9.15 COME ON YOU GREENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cahill has ninja skills, at the moment hes probably getting watched more cos hes our only real threat, Yakubu apart that is. Im very biased, Tim Cahill is 1 of my favourite players, but if he wasnt playing well I wouldnt object to him being dropped.

I wouldn't even drop him, I'd possibly give him a rest against Benfica and then bring him back for the next League game.

My point is - out of the three, for me anyway, Cahill would be the most likely to drop out going by form all season.

Going to rep this post. Absolutely spot on.

I don't really see Cahill doing that much apart from arriving late in the box, and he hasn't done that much recently.

cant see a place in the team for fellaini when everybody is fit the guy is so frustrating to watch and he cost us the second goal against benfica trying to over play by our box

Well said that man .
The kid needs a rest , and any other year would've gotten one .
Will get there , but defo , " work in progress " .
Felliani too is learning , but for me has been better than Jackie of late . Wouldn't have taken him off yday neither . Billy would've got the nod . As it turned out , I'd've been right .

Spot on assessment mate!

None of the above for me mate - Rodders needs a breeder - Fellaini really is our creative force as LCAB said at the mo really isnt fair at this stage of his development or is the shifting of his positions but there you go a victim of his own effectiveness - Dont really see Rodders turning over or brigeing our play from defence to attack that much to be honest you could replace Fellaini's name with Rodwells in your post when he plays deep and you would be more accurate. Rodwell certainly not consistently and less and lessy as the weeks have worn on nor is it fair that we expect him to. I think Rodders is maybe playing with 60% of whats in his locker at the mo if im honest - certainly a huge amount more will come form this boy, Rodwells better at the hollywood balls to be fair but he needs work on his decision making, consistencey, his view of the overall game and critical points when impact needs to be made and his postioning at times - thought Cahill put in a marked decent performence yesterday, hes as skillfull without the ball in the box as he is with the ball in the box.

Arugumenet for a 4-4-2 and a 4-5-1 to be fair - i dont think it will be or should be definitively decideded upon, the variables of each game have to be taken into account.

no way dangerus nor reckless!

He will lose his appeal mate, mark my words. And to make matters worse, Jamie Carragher will have his red card rescinded.
