As I said, there all there. Game by game, pass by pass. What is does show is that he retains possession, and for a Hollywood passer, that's got to be a good thing.

He should be used sparingly when Arteta and Neville return, I wouldn't disagree with that. I've said it so many times. At the moment no chance, he's the best player we have in his position. He should be used most weeks and I would be very surprised if he wasn't.

He's the ONLY player we have in his position that can actually play the position. That's why I was so annoyed when we didn't sign anyone else - we are basically relying on a teenager to carry us for half a season.

On Bilyaletdinov's red card, I'd put money on Moyes playing Osman ahead of him (if he's back) in the Derby. I can just seeing it happening.

Rodwell is massively hype up in this forum. Decent but hardly world class if you study the way he distribute the ball. Making short side way passes that chalk up stats most of the time.
Heit has more vision and range than him.
Rodder needs to improve a lot more.

He's not really, how many 17-18 year olds centre midfielders come in and do the job he's done? Very few, if any, his ability and attitude is spot on and he will go very far in the game if he avoids injury. It's not like people dismiss his weaknesses, he has alot of work to do on his defensive game, and he's far from the finished article.

He does make alot of short sideways passes, so does Arteta. Knitting things together, controlling the tempo, retaining possession, building attacks. That's a big part of football, that's a big part of being a holding midfielder. And it's not just his passing, his ability to turn and move with the ball is also on a different level to those around him.

As Brownie said, we really are asking a 18 year old to protect our back four and be our most creative centre midfielder - simply because those infront of them haven't got the creative qualities needed to play the role. Rodwell isn't a true creative player, he's just the best footballer out of the three we currently have in there.

On Heitinga, he does have a very good long pass but he's got a long way to go for me, one good performance and one very average performance so far. You've got to have the mobility on the ball and the ability to create space for yourself so you can use that passing ability.

If he can do that more than once then we'll be able to give the likes of Rodwell, Cahill and Fellaini a rest every now and then. I hope he does, because I have seen some Xabi Alonso esque passes from him, the majority of them coming with no pressure on him though, as a centre back.

That's not my point. I'm saying he's not world class as many have said he is. World class is what gerrard, giggs, farbregas and keane is when they are 18.
I certainly never said he cant improve either.
Like I say he's decent, to take the next step to world class needs alot of improvement in all aspect of his game.

For me, Rodders has a lot of potential, and is making all the right noises for a guy of his age.
He isn't world class yet, and it's unfair on the lad to hang that tag around his neck.

Having said that, you don't have to be 18 to be world class, and he has a lot of time on his side if he wants to aspire to that status.

We only have one true world class player in our team, and that is Saha.
The rest are simply very good players.

Im begining to love all these Billyisms:

New boy Diniyar Bilyaletdinov has warned Merseyside's prolific burglars that there is no point targeting his new home.

More than a dozen footballers in the north-west have been burgled in the last three years, but the Russia star says a raid on his apartment would produce lean pickings for raiders.

'I have been living for two-and-a-half weeks in a rented apartment, but here I have nothing,' said the £10million signing from Lokomotiv Moscow.

'I was told that robbers come for all kinds of clocks and ornaments, but I don't have any.

'What will they come for, a TV or something? I heard that robbers come and demand that the owner opens his safe. I have one, but I don't use it.

'I don't even know how to open it.'

However, the 24-year-old feels he has already been robbed.

Bilyaletdinov gave Everton the lead during his side's 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday, but his afternoon was spoiled by a sending off late in the game for a high tackle on Stiliyan Petrov.

'I can't feel satisfaction for the goal,' he said.

'First, because we didn't win, and second because I was sent off.

'It's a shame that I will miss the match at Old Trafford against Manchester United on November 21. In general, I'm upset. 'What can I say?

'I very nearly got the ball, but hurt the opponents leg. But there was no malice. My leg wasn't fully outstretched, I didn't intend to go into him.

'The referee saw it differently. The boss told me I was unlucky.'

Bilyaletdinov revealed there had been a team meeting about swine flu, which has particularly affected Blackburn Rovers, but he said the team had so far not been vaccinated against the virus.

He has got an interesting conversational style. But he can't complain too much, he should know by now sliding in is virtually illegal. He'd better watch out though, there's nothing that's going to wind up burglars like telling them the safe has nothing in it, then claiming you don't know how to open it so they can't check!

How Do you know that ?

I don't think you'll see many people calling him 'world class' at this point in his career, potentially 'world class' yes, and he could very well be if he keeps developing at the rate he is. But he's far from the finished article and far from world class at present.

He has a rare mix of technical and physical attributes that very few young players have. He has the height and frame to go with it and he's not even fully developed yet, he's going to get taller and fill out. The more experience he gets the more you'll see him demanding the ball and trying more difficult passes.

Steven Gerrard was a backup right back/defensive midfielder around Rodwell's age and has openly admitted he was out of his depth at that age. Roy Keane certainly wasn't world class at Rodwell's age, it took him a while to come through, I seem to remember people saying he was too small. Even Wayne Rooney was very hit and miss with us, being an attacking player he's going to get more attention.

Rodwell's playing playing centre midfield for a top five club and he looks very comfortable, at 18 that is very impressive, very few players around his age are doing it, if any. He's got the potential to be alot more than decent, even at this level he's better than decent.
