It’s taken you 3 and a half years to figure that outYou’re insane.
If his gameplay against top teams gets us 3-0 against Chelsea as an example I’m not really sure what more he needs to doI did say he did a great job steadying the ship and getting us where we are. I also never said that the next step should be taken tomorrow. I just said that I don't think Moyes is the right man to do that since his gameplan is to negative for the topteams. I hope tk be proven wrong though.
Because as far as I can recall, it rarely works out when a managers contract is running down.I think we need to see where we are at the end of the season.
Why can't we go into next season with him in his final year?
I don't see their being a stream of clubs trying to take him away us and he is very well paid at Everton why would he walk away.
If we finish top six give him a years extension
If we make top 8 keep him for another year
If we end up 10th or lower look for someone who can take us to the next level.
Believe it or not their is a glass ceiling with Moyes he will always be grade 2 manager.
And probably be fighting relegationIf you gave Iraola Aznou, George and Armstrong they'd all be in the first team every week, O'Brien and Branthwaite would be our centre backs and we'd play 10 yards further up the pitch. Not sure we've currently got the rest of the squad to do that yet though.
That's the risk you take appointing a progressive manager, and I totally understand people just wanting a couple of years of stability, but if that does happen you have to accept that Branthwaite and N'diaye will leave because they only have a finite amount of time to win trophies and if we're not moving forward they will go to a club that is.And probably be fighting relegation
We are moving forward. That's the risk you take appointing a progressive manager, and I totally understand people just wanting a couple of years of stability, but if that does happen you have to accept that Branthwaite and N'diaye will leave because they only have a finite amount of time to win trophies and if we're not moving forward they will go to a club that is.
Not necessarily, we could still finish 14th it's that tight, we didn't win a cup game this season, and I'd hardly say we're playing scintillating football. We are moving forward.
I would suggest that from fighting relegation, for years, to fighting for a European place is moving forward. That's the risk you take appointing a progressive manager, and I totally understand people just wanting a couple of years of stability, but if that does happen you have to accept that Branthwaite and N'diaye will leave because they only have a finite amount of time to win trophies and if we're not moving forward they will go to a club that is.

We beat Mansfield in the Carabao cup (not that it makes our cup 'runs' anything to shout about)Ll

Who is disputing we’ve not spend much over the last 5 years? Now show this table over five years...
Where do we sit then?
I'll judge that at the end of the season, but even if we finish 14th it will be because of bad form at the end which is less stressful than an upturn away from possible relegation.….if you want progressive, this is progress.
Ah yes sorry I forgot about thatWe beat Mansfield in the Carabao cup (not that it makes our cup 'runs' anything to shout about)
And I am honest enough to say he absolutely wasnt my first choice to come back. But the job he has done is remarkable. He has given us our club back after years of absolute misery. I was wrong and hope now he deserves a contract extension.
Do you really want to go down the vault route though ! Please David. Have some self respect.
