2025/26 David Moyes

Truffert, Wesley & Kayode were the 3 major errors for me in January 2025.

Each of them are £35mil+ now.

Not really. Everyone wants to win.

Those 100% behind Moyes dont care about the future and only about short term success.

They also dont seem to understand the rules on spending nor that Moyes has favourites and doesnt typically change this to select on merit once the season starts.

Mine was @John from Bootle using payed

Usage Examples for "Payed":

Nautical/Sealing: "The crew payed the deck with tar to prevent leaks."Nautical/Rope: "He payed out the anchor line slowly during the storm."Incorrect usage: "I payed my rent." (Should be "I paid my rent.")

Precisely.

We surely missed on them, but the fact is we were in a relegation battle and we couldn't sign a player for a fee, which let suggest due to fact that we only brought Alcaraz in and couldn't pay his low fee slightly over 10m immediately.

In summer maybe, we needed about 10-12 players at least to have a cover while also improving in quality, looking at the bench yesterday there were at least all players that have prem standards.

I would say tho, that the Dibling money hurts as it's 1/3 of the whole budget for a player that doesn't seem to play a role and probably we should have devided into a winger and RB option back then.

Bournemouth have sold their entire defence for £150 million, replaced them for about £65 million and inside 6 months you'd never know. If that was Moyes they'd be in the bottom 5. It's lazy to say that just getting Iraola in would make a massive difference as he needs the right type of player but Moyes has been managing for 30 years so I can say with certainty that he won't get us playing high pressing fast exciting football, going to Old Trafford and the Emirates and dominating possession, and having a team that fears nobody. Iraola has done that with BOURNEMOUTH!
Whilst conceding 12 more goals and behind us in the league..

They are a very very well run club with a great Transfer approach, a young coach who works well with the lads.
But the above figures don't lie..

I just hope we will do the same in case bigger clubs come in for Ndiaye and Garner that I see players that can start for almost any club in the big 6 so far it looks like they are able to.

I don’t think anyone is rushing through an extension to be honest. There’s only 6 games left.

But he does either need a new deal or need moved on in the summer. And that decision needs made early doors so it doesn’t get entangled with the transfer window and players not knowing who will be the manager.

We can’t go into next season with him in his final year. And for me, he deserves time as he has us challenging for European spots in the final weeks of the season.
I think we need to see where we are at the end of the season.
Why can't we go into next season with him in his final year?
I don't see their being a stream of clubs trying to take him away us and he is very well paid at Everton why would he walk away.
If we finish top six give him a years extension
If we make top 8 keep him for another year
If we end up 10th or lower look for someone who can take us to the next level.
Believe it or not their is a glass ceiling with Moyes he will always be grade 2 manager.

If memory serves me correctly:

Kayode was signed in Jan 2025 on loan with an option to buy.

Wesley and Truffert didnt move until the summer.

We could have had any of them in Jan 2025

Don't we all mate, but it is a bit early to keep jumping on this.
Bournemouth have had years to build this structure.

There is a lot you'd take from Bournemouth, but keep as far away as possible from the stepping stone, selling point..

Which of Glasner's tactics do you like specifically Dave?

Specifically: the one where he gets his players to pass the ball accurately to each other with pace. Not exactly a revolutionary concept, I grant you.

And he's much more adaptable formation-wise than Sgt Major Boiled Potatoes Moyes....then again, which manager isn't?

Thing about that game yesterday was that we got in at HT having turned the game in our favour.

Second half, an halfway decent tactical manager starts a more attacking couple of players like Ireogbunam who gets a lot further up the pitch than the increasingly dire Gueye; and George on for McNeil who offered not much 1st half.

The teams that get Europe will go for broke in all their games because that way you'll more than likely get the extra point or two to achieve that.

Moyes waited until the 75th minute to bring those sub changes about.

He's just not proactive enough to get us much further than mid-table now.

So, just to clarify, you're declaring someone who holds a contrary position to you on a football forum as 'borderline insane' - but you are 'balanced'.

Ha ha ha. FFS. Take a look in the mirror lad.

I defend managers not financially backed and left with a mountain to climb with us dancing on the trap door...as any sane supporter would.

We have a manager who's come in and done ok but not exceptionally well having spent £110M on players last summer. At this stage we could still not only NOT qualify for Europe but also we might even fall into the bottom half of the PL...which would be appalling given the cash spent and the massive support in a new stadium.

I'm sorry if people feel offended at being called sycophants - but Moyes is a limited manager and there are many of us who demand a more tactically astute manager at this club to make the difference again, and then there's others who will take whatever Moyes serves up.
You seriously need help.

The absolute [Poor language removed] you spew out on a daily basis would put Thames Water to shame.

So Trump like in all of your inane ramblings.

Loving how Moyes is really boiling your piss. All because you want him to fail.

Is that the same Gueye who's assisted in both of our last 2 games?

And he “might” be a success here if he came. Or he could sink like a stone like many do when they get a chance here. Martinez and Silva prime examples of mangers who couldn’t handle it in the end.

It’s all moot anyway as it would be very unlikely we’d be able to prise Iraola away.

I like the tactics that have us 6 places above his cup winning team in the league myself.
