And they have 3 more points than us in that time. You can't claim they are in great form and also moan and doom monger that we are on the brink of having a season that is barely better than what we did last season.

It is still in the balance and 6 games of us playing under par could result in a drop into the bottom half. But nothing we've done since the turn of the year suggests that kind of capitulation is likely.

So just to clarify, according to GOTs resident arse clown, if you have a balanced view and appreciate the improvement in league places this season and the fact that we are pushing for Europe and not battling relegation, this makes you a “Moyes sycophant”.

But yeah, there's glaring weaknesses in this squad. Most people who know football will tell you for definite that if you just put one good attacking full back in to the team (either side), who can also defend a bit, then this team will instantly improve.

This squad was never gonna be sorted out with one summer and one January window. Not on the back of loads of players walking out the door for free and years of negative or really low net spend. £110 million is a lot of money... if you're spending it on one or two players. We were never fixing everything in one go.

And it won’t be fixed this summer either. We need two full backs, two wingers and let’s be honest 2 strikers. Unfortunately it is going to be a slow build and the warnings of that have already been put out there.

You have to balance with the fact that he turned players down in January 2025 like Truffert for slightly less than we paid for Aznou.

Moyes has said that he has final say on signings so he authorised the signing. Truffert was of the age that Moyes likes. Instead we are still playing Mykolenko and have a kid doing nothing. Makes no sense

Similarly he stopped the Fellows signing for £8m and authorised Dibling for 5 times as much. He doesn’t play Dibling. He has to have responsibility for the team getting one starter despite spending over £100m

Truffert, Wesley & Kayode were the 3 major errors for me in January 2025.

Each of them are £35mil+ now.

There is massive divide between the pro Moyes and anti Moyes on here .
For me it is question for the end of the season. I certainly wouldn't be rushing through a contract extension.

Not really. Everyone wants to win.

Those 100% behind Moyes dont care about the future and only about short term success.

They also dont seem to understand the rules on spending nor that Moyes has favourites and doesnt typically change this to select on merit once the season starts.

So, just to clarify, you're declaring someone who holds a contrary position to you on a football forum as 'borderline insane' - but you are 'balanced'.

It's bang out of order from @davek , tbh.

Recall him distinctly defending his right to back Benitez by stating that backing an Everton manager is the correct thing to do, and that doing so is beyond criticism.

I defend managers not financially backed and left with a mountain to climb with us dancing on the trap door...as any sane supporter would.

We have a manager who's come in and done ok but not exceptionally well having spent £110M on players last summer. At this stage we could still not only NOT qualify for Europe but also we might even fall into the bottom half of the PL...which would be appalling given the cash spent and the massive support in a new stadium.

I'm sorry if people feel offended at being called sycophants - but Moyes is a limited manager and there are many of us who demand a more tactically astute manager at this club to make the difference again, and then there's others who will take whatever Moyes serves up.

Bournemouth have sold their entire defence for £150 million, replaced them for about £65 million and inside 6 months you'd never know. If that was Moyes they'd be in the bottom 5. It's lazy to say that just getting Iraola in would make a massive difference as he needs the right type of player but Moyes has been managing for 30 years so I can say with certainty that he won't get us playing high pressing fast exciting football, going to Old Trafford and the Emirates and dominating possession, and having a team that fears nobody. Iraola has done that with BOURNEMOUTH!
