You don't think Glasner or Iraola to name 2 managers readily available would be a "better replacement"
Who says they are readily available?
What if they already know where they are going to be next season and it isn’t at Everton.

That is what I mean by not out under any circumstances. I would like them to have a better option lined up before they pull the trigger. Not pull the trigger and then try to find someone. I would like there to be a succession plan - hopefully there is.

Not really. It shows we are basically putting a thoughtful cogent plan in place and are seeking to improve.

Man City spent several seasons with Pep’s former recruitment people in place and built a team to his liking despite Pelligrini being in charge. The point is, they had a strategy in place and it took time for it to reach the point for Guardiola to step in and take over.

Strategy takes time to implement. Making managerial choices based on short runs of form is foolish.
Fair enough. I just do not think consolidation of power is the right choice. Of course strategy takes time, but the strategy should be clear and obvious with multiple indicators. Not convinced that ours is at the moment.

Ok I'll bite. Team we could have by the start of next season:
Pickford
New fast overlapping right back
O'Brien
Branthwaite
New fast overlapping left back
Armstrong
Rohl
KDH
N'diaye
New fast centre forward
New fast right sided forward

Subs:
Travers
Mykolenko
Tarkowski
Gueye
Dibling
Alcaraz
Beto

Sell Keane, Patterson, Barry, McNeill

That's 4 new signings needed to play how he would want to, hardly major surgery.
Was going to reply with something similar to this as the thread includes one of my comments / replies in which I did not even mention Iraola. But the matter of fact is if we got a manager like him in you'd hope we supplement it with recruitment otherwise what is the point. Moyes famously said when speaking about Everton in 2018 (I think?) , "you live and die by your recruitment". Well ... hopefully we live, and for that matter - live lavishly, this summer regardless of the manager / coach. Sick of the we do not have European footy shout. Neither have multiple teams in the past 3 years yet they seem to buy players and develop them. Why don't we ? 🤷‍♂️

The theory here is correct, there is enough talent in this team to play better and it wouldn't take a ton of time to do it. That said we need to stop penciling in Rohl and Armstrong like they're PL level midfielders.

They tend not to develop if they never get on the pitch...weird that.

So how much do you think our transfer budget will be and which young attack minded players would come to a team with no European football, then you have the injury questions over Branthwaite so realistically that's at least another central defender but for a squad you really need two. Barry has had a long-term shoulder issue which could very well require surgery so doubt he could be sold. It's a big job for any manager but unfortunately more difficult for someone who sets up a team like Iraola
