The actual major battles will be over in days , the Russians dominate the air and have cut communication lines , even if they could move in an orderly manner the Ukraine army would be at the mercy of the Russian planes. For what its worth, I think the next few days will be horrific.
Couple of things Putin has said in his ramblings stand out. He talked about bringing justice to bear against people who have stood against Russia but the phrase he used doesnt mean judicial justice.
There is videos and pictures of vehicles that would be used to transport prisoners back to Russia. Their elite battle experience troops have not been sent in, seems to be mostly conscripts for the most part. Lots of reports that they had no idea where they were going - thought they were just on manoeuvres etc.
I think the real invasion happens when they secure a couple of landing strips. It'll be over in a week to ten days of horror before sanctions mean anything.
Only hope would be if enough ground to air missiles suddenly appeared in the next day or two, not likely.
If the Ukrainian forces are still fighting this time next week they will have done brilliantly
It's after that when it will get bleak .
