Joy Deprived

I truly believe we are the most joy deprived fanbase in the entire country.

We don’t win silverware.

We hardly ever win a derby.

We just exist in the league we play in.

We regularly go out of the cups in embarrassing fashion.

The majority of football we’ve had to put up with has been terrible on the eye.

We have to sell our best young players because we can’t match their ambition.

Is there anyone more joy deprived than us? I always thought Ipswich were up there but they have had plenty of recent enjoyment.

Anyone else?

If we'd have had a player like Richarlison it'd have made the difference now that Everton have a better team than when he was here last.

But attitude comes from the top. If you dont have a man in the dugout motivating players to do it for the badge and the fans then you're halfway to failure in a derby...that's why Moyes loses so many of them: he's not someone who feels like we do about all this.

He needs replacing and he needs replacing this summer.
Not sure that corner and goal, was anything to do with the manager. There was a clear lack of fight, watch the reaction after the goal. No one is that arsed. Now imagine if Dave Watson or even Mick Lyons was lining up to defend the corner.

I’m mates with a big City fan and I swear I’ve had more enjoyment out of being an Evertonian every single season since I’ve known him - he’s always saying how they’ve lost their soul, how the fans who sit around his family have stopped being locals and become day trippers, how the present has no knowledge of or connection with the past at all. I was more buzzing after the Chelsea game than he has been at any point in the last 18 months. Success after success often numbs joy, whereas absence of success turns up the value of everything - every win, every goal, every tackle becomes absolutely joyous.

Can’t we at least sample a little bit of success first and see if it starts to be joyous? 😂

Despite all of that, I can’t think of anything I’d rather be than an Evertonian.

Obviously footy related of course.

Their manager sends them out with that attitude because he has no interest in fighting in derbies.

If you're a player and your manager has had 16 defeats in a certain fixture do you really go 110% in your own effort?

I dont see it.

A player off with a swollen eye, another with a hammy. A narrowly off side goal, a dubious penalty not given, their keeper carried off after our centre forward scored and the only thing separating the teams after that was a last minute winner. But yes, no fight
