Joy Deprived

As somebody who goes to every home game but isn't going to aways I'd say this season has been up there with the least enjoyable seasons I've ever had. The stadium is great but the home form has been appalling, the football has been dull and the kick off times have been a colossal pain in the arse. I really enjoyed the Brighton game and the Chelsea game, other than that it's been a real chore.
Could not agree more, fantastic stadium but our home form has been bloody awful (I think 8 home defeats inc the Sunderland cup match). Luckily our away form has helped us. Coming home from home defeats as made me think why the hell do I bother, but as we all do we turn up for the next home match with optimism !!

I kind of agree with you that in the cold light of day, Liverpool most of the time want it more. There players are hyped to max, Suarez dive in front of Moyes, Van Dijk many headed goals, Gerrard cupping ears, Fowler sniffing lines. Most of their players have beef in a way we don't. Maybe their own egos despise being disliked who knows. Definitely they treat it like a cup final and we don't.

If we'd have had a player like Richarlison it'd have made the difference now that Everton have a better team than when he was here last.

But attitude comes from the top. If you dont have a man in the dugout motivating players to do it for the badge and the fans then you're halfway to failure in a derby...that's why Moyes loses so many of them: he's not someone who feels like we do about all this.

He needs replacing and he needs replacing this summer.

Was Oldham until last season.

No relegation a big deal though. Question is would you trade Everton's last 30 years for Leicester's? They've won a Premier League title, Championship titles, League One titles, an FA Cup, 3 League Cups, a Charity Shield, A Champions League quarter final, another European semi final; but have also been relegated a bunch of times and had financial meltdowns. The success Leicester have had have never elevated them as a club either. They'd never be classed as a big club like Everton still are with most top flight seasons in history. A bit like Blackburn in the 90s/2000s when they were competitive.
Yes I get the relegation thing is great and its certainly worth mentioning. Don't think it brings us joy though.

Nobody would suggest swapping but at the same time they've shown it can be done i guess.

I truly believe we are the most joy deprived fanbase in the entire country.

We don’t win silverware.

We hardly ever win a derby.

We just exist in the league we play in.

We regularly go out of the cups in embarrassing fashion.

The majority of football we’ve had to put up with has been terrible on the eye.

We have to sell our best young players because we can’t match their ambition.

Is there anyone more joy deprived than us? I always thought Ipswich were up there but they have had plenty of recent enjoyment.

Anyone else?
Joy Division? :D
