Indeed. It was not an offensive, an offensive would have been aimed at the Politicians and military. This was just an act of terror against kids at a festival, random killings of innocents and the taking of hostages. Hamas leaders know what comes next and that’s why many of them are elsewhere at the moment. There is a bigger picture orchestrated by Iran who are also laying low at the moment….like you, I just find all of this really upsetting for the absolute meaningless loss of innocent lives….

The ones that are elsewhere are always elsewhere, you can't travel freely to Gaza and back, especially if you're a Hamas leader.

Funny that the buggers funding both sides are thousands of miles from the conflict, ain't it?

Do you know how expensive and inefficient desalination is? You know that Israel also controls Gaza's energy as well as its water. It's an absolute non-starter in Gaza.

I think it’s a bit out of line to claim anyone on this forum was happy to see kids massacred at a festival to be honest mate.

Exactly, the Israelis have access to some of the best surveillance and spying gear in the whole world. Plus the use of US and UK resources and agencies..

My point was, if I happened to be Jewish and reading this thread I'd feel more than a little uncomfortable.

By control their water and electricity, do you mean Israel provides it. Why has the independent Gaza Strip not sorted out both for themselves…..I’m not trying to be clever here or score points but why haven’t they ?….Why does it not come in from Egypt for instance ? Do they have water desalination plants ? They have been there for how long……

Im pretty sure I've seen that mentioned before and Israel doesn't allow them to build anything like that..

Sums up a lot of opinions I'm seeing online regards all this. My own knowledge of the conflicted region is rudimentary and vaguely covers the 20th century from post WW1. I lose track somewhere around the 2000s, since when, as I understand, an awful lot has happened.

Can any of the clued up give us a brief bullet point of the milestones that have occurred over 20 years or so?


(I mean of the conflict, I don't need to know if you passed your driving test)

Can they stop buildings being put up, can they stop shops opening, can they stop Hamas getting hold of 5,000 missiles and arms, no they can’t and if they blew up desalination plants or electricity generating systems then the world opinion would be against them. This simple fact is they haven’t done it…..

I think it was the IRA that said we only need to get lucky once, you need to be lucky every time.

I really can't imagine that Israel would let this happen if they had any fore knowledge, they have demonstrated many times that they will just take what they want and target who they want, whenever they want.

They don't need a false flag operation to do whatever they are going to do.
