It's going to be a long, hot summer - just like 2016. And with an early start, to boot.

The hardest part in commenting on the present situation is resisting the urge to say "the mask has come off" of anything. Too soon. Way too soon.

I keep on seeing how the police are escalating things, this whole thing is a fn powder keg. Eventually some protestors are going to bring guns in to the crowd. Whether for "we need to protect ourselves" or "we are going to escalate" is irrelevant.

Can we just fast forward to 2021 already? Jebus....

Fully agree, the murder should be hit with 25 years and the other 3 tried as an accessory. But any homicide charge right now is a victory, as even with video footage of police commiting previous murders, nothing has happened to them. Hopefully this acts as a major deterrent to others.



Exactly. Have you seen the video if them pushing a 90 yr old black woman to the floor who was trying to protect her terrified grandson who had about 6 guns pointed at him?



Remember Botham Jean who got shot in his own apartment by an off duty policewoman who broke in and afterwards claimed she thought it was her apartment? They got a search warrent and tried to blame him smoking weed in his own apartment for his death

In the case of Botham Jean, I think his underlying condition of not wearing a bullet proof vest may have contributed to his death.

Because this is what happens during riots! Criminals see opportunities... It doesn't mean the central cause of the riot should be ignored

I said the same yesterday. Soldiers, for all intents and purposes, are not suited for dealing with public disorder in a civil and non-confrontational way.

That's not talking about the individual people or being critical of them, however their training and the psychological conditioning they face simply don't suit the role.

Tbh Legs some of these protesters deserve a clip the way they carry on. Im all for peaceful protest/ sit ins etc but when you are phsyically attacking someone / blocking their path trying to provoke they cant complain if they get a response.

Far be it from me to defend a racist police force, but I got the impression looking at that from that angle that the driver maybe saw protestors beging to come around the back of the car and so accelerated forward to avoid being trapped. If so, though, he / she accelerated too fast.

I’ve seen some truly shocking stuff from the police on twitter but on the other hand I’ve just watched a video of some Middle Aged woman pleading with protestors not to loot her shop, they assault her heavily.

America is just chaos and what is Trump doing? Still in his bunker?

There is absolutely horrendous stuff happening from all angles, but luckily they have a strong leader who will s.... Donald? Where are you Donald?

Not for me mate - anyone who has ever worked in customer service will tell you some people think just because you wear a uniform you can be given unnecessary amounts of abuse.

Just because a minority of police are corrupt/racist doesnt give people the rights to blockade police cars / abuse them - same way you cant abuse all priests because a few are nonces.

Sadly its a generation of entitled idiots who think they can do/act as they want and get no comeuppance - poke a bear you're gonna get eaten.
