God gave us twitter so that self-beclowning would be just that much easier and enjoy a far wider scope.

It's going to be a long, hot summer - just like 2016. And with an early start, to boot.

The hardest part in commenting on the present situation is resisting the urge to say "the mask has come off" of anything. Too soon. Way too soon.

I've seen this play out before. eventually it will die down. promises will be made and quickly broken. then a movie will be made about how the city recovered after Kork Cousins led the city to a wild card victory against the packers once Aaron Rodgers was ruled inelegible in the 1st quarter in the playoff game due to a concussion.

The police in America are given far too much freedom and license to do whatever the [Poor language removed] they want, particularly when it comes to African Americans. This is just another example of a hotheaded cop, none of the others wind down the window to spray yet this person wants to be the hero and create agro.

America is in trouble here, back the protestors to the hilt. The looting is a necessary part and is due to the oppression black people face in that country, good on them. This issue can't end overnight, however, I suspect that arsehole of a president will continue to stir the pot in a bid to rally his supporters. I sense a tragedy coming, something akin to that person who was run over by a radical right-winger who took vigilantism into their own hands.

"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable"

I don't feel one bit bad about the situation unfolding(except sadness at the loss of life obviously). It's been overdue for a long long time and, with this lockdown, unemployment etc this is just the match. There has been a serious issue with poilicing in this country for far too long. They've become a quasi militarized version of a protectorate. They have fn wartime machines at their disposal. Again and again courts have said that as long as "police feel threatened" they are free to use lethal force. They've justified way too man killings as a "I felt threatened". I understand that it is not every single police officer that is doing these things but "one bad apple spoils the bunch". That stupid blue wall of silence and a sort of heroism from the same idiots that love Trump for the police have caused the resentment here. Theres been too many instances, not just against black people but they are overwhelmingly the victims, of police brutality completely swept under the rug by the department ad the DA's office as well unwilling to prosecute them.

The whole thing is destined to explode sooner or later. This virus makes it seem like it's going to be sooner..

A lot of far far right and militia types have made their way into the police and military as well

People like to say there are lots of "good cops," but when the "good cops" are as likely as all other cops to defend bad cops from being held accountable for bad behavior, they're not good cops at all, are they?

There have been a number of police chiefs on Twitter that have stated unequivocally that the police were in the wrong.

That's too black and white.

The cop that killed him wasn't trying to kill him. However

Isn't that the same as now?

Sorry I have probably misinterpreted it.

So did the police there follow up a racist incident where they murdered a black man by then arresting a reporter for no reason who was black?

I mean, police there are kinda making the institutionalised racism worse in the public eye.
