Farhad Moshiri: Ronald Koeman Statement

Of course it's bleeding obvious. He was trying to say that we'd lost games that looking back on you'd not have necessarily expected us to win - which you wouldn't. Burnley being the exception.

Part of what's wrong with the club is that the ground is a morgue and is a hindrance to the players rather than a benefit.

Koeman has made mistakes this season, he's got a couple of weeks on the training ground to sort it. If he doesn't get it right at Brighton then he'll be toast irrespective of Moshiri's comments today imo.

I wonder why?

saying he doesn't expect to get results against some of the teams we played, yet one of his opening statements when investing was about returning everton to where we belong, winning trophies, challenging for the top 4 etc etc, how does he expect to do that by not winning any of the big games?

hate the defeatist attitude that has plagued this club since I can remember

Davek and his anti-Koeman brigade are on the march!

Last season was all about improvement from Martinez. You look at the teams who finished above us - RS, City, Utd, Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal. Could you compare their squad to ours? 7th was just what we deserved tbh.

Alright, the crowd wants to win games. I want nothing else. I'm also not absolving Koeman from his share of criticism. What I have a problem with is thinking its all his fault.

You mentioned why our midfielders don't close down attacks. I ask the same question but I don't believe it has anything to do with Koeman's tactics. Both Gana and Schneiderlin were miles better than now. Surely one has to question them too. Williams has been shocking. And as he gets more shocking we get injuries to our other 2 CBs as well. The blame attached to Koeman in my view is signing so many no 10s. You give 9 new signings to the best of teams even they will struggle.

We lost Coleman, never replaced him. That can be blamed on Koeman. Martina is not the answer and we have conceded alot from RB area so far.

We lost Lukaku, never replaced him. Here I believe our board and Walsh are to blame. Cos my understanding is Koeman wanted more strikers in. We lost Kone, Lukaku and Niasse was banished. One Sandro was not gonna be enough.

Same for the defender area.
You've convinced me. Koeman is misunderstood. He is possibly the new messiah.

I wouldn't call someone having high standards for our great club a Newcastle fan.For all the money spent in the summer, people expected a lot more than 16th place, crap football, and drawing at home against some bum outfit from Cyprus! If there's one fan base with patience is us.We've waited 30 years to win the league and 22 years to win an actual trophy. Is that patient enough for you!

We haven't finished 16th, it's 7 games in.

Clearly modern football fans are absolute turds. I'm out.

The mosh is not the messiah we were hoping for.Hopefully he can get the new ground built at the very least.Although i have a feeling that will end up turning into another farce and fiasco.Im sure Jim White will keep us abreast with the developments in any case.

Again, I don't think this is how he meant it - even though I totally agree it was a stupid thing to say.

But the whole use of the term 'laughing stock' gets on my nerves. People say it all the time and it just seems a bit childish.

I absolutely agree with what you're saying, I just wish people would use a different phrase :) it's a real knit-pick of mine
Interestingly I have a knit-pick about people who start a sentence with the word ‘Again’ especially when its the first time they have made a point . Though in this case likely pages and pages have gone by me since this was said last so I will not be an accuser! It’s still gets on my nerves though.

His performance as a manager is simply not good enough. It has nothing to do with knee jerk reactions or joining some obscure notions of bandwagons. It isn't good enough and if it continues or there is no marked sign of improvement he has to go, period. As Evertonians we either, accept mediocrity or we make ourselves heard, in other words, this present predicament is simply unacceptable. Inane shouts of Newcastle "like" supporter behavior are inaccurate. We have history, they don't. The moment we accept inferior status is the moment we accept defeat. I'll never accept that. We are one of the most successful clubs in the history of football.

My instincts tell me that is all about about money, specifically the waterfront, and nothing to do with investing with intent in the club. To enable us to compete again and expect defeats from, let's be honest, historically our inferiors. Moshiri has to show himself more than a mere carpetbagger, Kenright too. Far too long has he rode on the coattails of being a boys pen Evertonian.

If he is, as he proclaimed many times, one of us, then it's time for him to to move aside or at the very least enable or persuade whoever is in charge of our club, because let's be honest no-one knows, who is. There needs be change. Real change that allows us to compete again. Our club was built upon success, hence the motto. Nobody associated with Everton should accept the so called monied clubs sweeping all aside. I'll never accept that, if Everton means anything as a supporter, it means something more than that. It's fundamentally in our DNA, we fight and sometimes lose, so be it, but we, never meekly surrender. It's not an option and it shouldn't be for anybody who is in anyway associated with our club.

Fans like you are the problem. No hope just happy to be a fan regardless of the results. Not expecting us to go out and win the league in season one but he's had 3 transfer windows and can you say we've improved in that time? I'd say we definitely haven't with the loss of romelu

Totally agree

To watch us now I honestly believe the standard of football we are playing is boarders get of the days of the relegation scraps.
Not saying we will get pulled into a relegation scrap, but the lack of direction and how we play does point towards a very gloomy season
