your word not mine...
I understand the 'better the devil you know argument' but no one ever grew or developed by standing still and accepting the status quo. The EU is a sclerotic self protecting dinosaur who's share of world trade diminishes each year. When we leave it will only get worse by bringing in even more basket case countries who will need funding. I agree that huge amounts of time appear to have been wasted, but I will bet it won't have been. We will have our no deal scenario detailed and we have put forward a variety of proposals, but again this slow moving beast just cannot get its head around this new reality which will shortly be upon us. Part of our problem has been the remoaner rearguard action and head burying, instead of getting behind our country. Once the German elections are out of the way things will move forward, remember Germany has a massive trade surplus with the UK, the biggest in the world, and they are on the hook far more than we.

In terms of NI, I've said before, just leave the borders open, offer the EU free trade, if they then do not wish it and insist on borders then they will have to put the borders in place because we won't. In respect of Gibraltar, Spain regularly screws up the border and treats the 10,000 or so Spanish people who work in Gib as political pawns, with no help at all from the EU. Spain also interferes with flights again with no comeback from the EU. Gib will survive outside of the EU.......
I see the Private Island owning, multi billionaire, tax avoiding Richard Branson is suggesting that the U.K. will go back into the EU once the older generation fools who voted leave die out. The man is 67 and a couple of years older than this leave voter. I make that 1 less leaver, 1 less remoaner in a few years.........

Which bit of ‘it’s a negotiation’ do you not understand. Davis is negotiating against the EU and 27 countries, meanwhile Labour, Scotland, Wales and the remoaner class are doing their very best to undermine our country’s negotiating position. In previous times it would have been called for what it is, treason. We are leaving the EU, these negotiations will affect every single person in our country and it is incredibly important that we get a good deal. The way to do this is to keep all options open. Normally it would also help if our own people were not fighting for the other side. Remember that this treacherous behaviour will cost every person real money, your money, our money. It’s about time people grew up and realised exactly whose side they should be on, this is not a game or a bit of fun, this is deadly serious....".
Just stop moaning and giving the EU encouragement. If they believe we are weak they will give the worst deal possible so that the weak minded will reject it, panic and try to reverse our vote. It’s what they do, they have done it many times before. This cynical non movement of talks is all part of it. The rolling out of the OECD and IMF for project fear has been done before. We are now entering project fear 2. They believe that there are enough remoaners to reverse our decision. They may be disappointed........
Did anyone apologise for spreading yet another remoaner lie about the (£500M) cost of changing the passport.......I expect not......
Reuters......

"In Biarritz, the EU side will hold its ground on Brexit," said one EU official dealing with Brexit. "We don’t expect much to be agreed on Brexit there, even if some interesting exchanges may take place."

EU sources said Brussels was instead waiting to see if Britain's parliament, where a small majority is also opposed to leaving the bloc without a deal, could force Johnson into delaying or halting the exit process.

And there ladies and gentlemen of the remoaner party is what it’s all about.......

You made a choice/cast a vote for a particular outcome that had ramifications far beyond your small businesses and personal tax obligations, and presumably that choice was made in order to make the country better for all who reside here. I don't think it's too much to ask for you to hold those who are enacting your choice to account to make sure that happens. At the moment you're walking away and giving them a blank cheque to make whatever kind of pig's ear of the thing as possible.
Now be fair, Pete has done a fabulous job of calling out the civil service every time this Government have done something immoral, negligent or dangerous.

To butcher an analogy Pete, you won the war, now it's beholden on you to win the peace, which is something you're walking away from. As it is, you're coming across as though the only outcome that matters to you is that we leave, whether leaving helps or hinders the country as a whole is irrelevant as you're immune to economic consequences anyway, it was all about your personal pride.

No Bruce. My concerns are for my children and my granddaughter. Voting remain would have been the easy choice. Your ‘winning the peace’ is beholden upon everyone in the U.K. and not just the 17.4 million people who voted Leave. It’s a bit like saying all those that voted Labour or Conservative are the only ones responsible for developing the country. We are all in it, like it or not...

Like you, I'm hardly sat here willfully making a pigs ear of my life. I'm trying to do the best I can. I'm also holding the government to account for the promises they made about how wonderful Brexit would be, which you appear not to be.

Again Bruce, I expect them to deliver and if they cock it up they will be thrown out of office....

Lest we forget that the current retired generation not only enjoyed free university education, full EU membership, cheap housing, but they also enjoyed a triple lock pension and free care in their old age, all of which the younger generations no longer have.
