The government are in a bit of a bind, whatever 'deal' they get they are gonna be criticised by leavers or remainers, which will be about 50% of the population lol, labour are sort of lucky not to be in government atm

When we leave, we will be their largest export market. They currently run a trade surplus of over £70Bn per year with the UK, so you’re probably right they don’t need us at all......

You might have a future in this politics bizo as that doesn't answer either question.

Anyway, I will rephrase the first question as it was not intended to be will the EU be in a worse position than before we left. The question is who needs a deal more? Obviously this will play a big part in negotiations.

Obviously we would like a deal as it’s the sensible thing to do, but bear in mind it is our intention to grow our RoW trade significantly when we leave the EU, so it’s significance, while large when we voted, will appear less and less as time moves on. Even now we have Politicians saying that they would now vote Brexit and surveys suggesting that more and more voters would be happy with no deal. Within the EU, there are quite a few countries such as Germany, France, Holland etc who sell far more to us than we do to them. The sensible thing is for them to want a deal, but who knows how their politics will play out. So who needs the deal more, I don’t really know. What I do know is that it is of benefit to both sides. Remember also that a relationship is not just about money and trade, although of great importance......

Some good points, will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

I see the Private Island owning, multi billionaire, tax avoiding Richard Branson is suggesting that the U.K. will go back into the EU once the older generation fools who voted leave die out. The man is 67 and a couple of years older than this leave voter. I make that 1 less leaver, 1 less remoaner in a few years.........

Think he might be immortal...

May has told them we will pay what we owe, she has said we will continue contributions during any transition period. Why should we dot the i’s and cross the t’s while they will not even start talking about the future relationship that affects both sides. Here’s an original thought, why not do some things in parallel......

...but has failed to put a number on it, or define exactly what we think that consists of.

Once the parameters are agreed then it will run in parallel, but they're sat there with what they consider is their ace and won't play it. It's the worst bluff in effing history.

It wouldn’t matter what number we put on it, it wouldn’t matter what parameters are set, once they have a number they will disagree with it and still say that they can’t discuss trade matters until we offer some number that they then pluck out of the air. The card we hold is not a case of a bluff, it’s actual money that currently belongs to you and I. Perhaps you could tell me what amount you are willing to pay in tax to cover it......

Seeing as this poll was advisory, surely the democratic thing to do is have a vote on whether the final deal/outcome is satisfactory to press on with.

And while I voted remain I do not wish to appear patronising to those who voted leave, this is a quote from the man charged with sorting this mess out; "If a democracy cannot change its mind, it ceases to be a democracy." David Davis (Brexit Secretary).

Don’t fume by the way, it’s simply my opinion just as you have yours. Stay civil and chilled and that.

Nice try but it isn’t going to happen. No one who voted, not even you, believed that the result would be ‘advisory’.

Of course a democracy can change its mind, once we’ve left we can always have another vote to see if we wish to rejoin, but let’s enact the first vote to begin with........

We always stay civil......
