I think he likes to tell people as if it makes him seem like he hasn't just dodged the question and is actually trying to lead a reasoned debate.

And if germany wants to keep selling us BMW and Merc cars it would do well to take that on board.

If you think the EU will sacrifice one of its members interests (Ireland )to appease Boris Johnson ,then all I can say is WOW.
Britain has no power to not allow it,you either leave with no deal and suffer the consequences or leave with a deal that the EU accepts.
