At the top of our government is a large Civil Service. The civil service is organised into various ministries all of whom are headed up by an elected MP, drawn from across the party that was elected by the people of the U.K.
Now the EU Commission, Bruce tells me, is just like our Civil Service, but can you tell me which elected MEP’s get to run and oversee the various commission ‘ministries’ and how many votes did they receive ?.....
You don't vote for the Health Minister though (or indeed the prime minister!). You vote for your local MP, and those MPs represent their communities in parliament, just as MEPs do in the European Parliament.
