Again, you demonstrate your insecurity about UK. I believe we have a full house. You believe we have a pair of 2's. You really should have more faith.

Nothing is agreed until everything is agreed remember. May agreed to put the so called WA including the backstop to Parliament but no agreement could be finalised unless or until Parliament approved it. The EU knew this. Parliament rejected the unratified WA. Three times!

And a lot of people voted against it. Three times they did. And fair play to them if that is their conviction. Meanwhile, the mess
Well, I am a UK citizen and not an EU one so we are looking at the situation from diamettrically opposed points of view.

I am confident so let's see how the cards fall shall we.
You are a British citizen, and your passport confirms thus. You are also an EU national while we are part of the EU. You might not want to be an EU national but you are. There you go.....

No, she didn't. The referendum vote, as explained by Cameron pre 2016 would take us out of the Customs Union, Common Fisheries Policy, etc etc. May's wilful and negligent surrender risked leaving us trapped in the Customs Union forever.

That is NOT what we voted for and her surrender document was rightly voted down. Three times!

Mama always said that stupid is as stupid posts.

Surrender document?

If it hadn’t been for the Tory reliance on the DUP then said surrender document was the way forward to achieving Brexit.

It is exactly this ‘surrender’ Nationalism that drives the pro Brexit political commentary and sentiment.

We signed up for a Common Market in 1973, not political union. The result of the referendum is that we are taking our independence back. If Remainers or EU don't like it, that is fine but we voted democratically to take back our independence, not sign up to another EU treaty - which is what Remainer May's WA was. Thankfully, that deal is dead and we would all be better advised to look to the future as we have 2 months to either reach a satisfactory deal or leave on WTO terms.

Either is fine with me.

Unfortunately, Parliament is Remain dominated whilst the popular vote is for Leave and that is what we have been fighting for the past 3 years - our own Parliament which does not respect its own democracy when it doesn't suit them. It is quite disgraceful, but BoJo is slowly but surely sorting things out.

The Treaty of Rome included the free movement of people, so presumably you're happy for that to continue?

No mention of EU on my nice new British passport.
Correct. Your country is still part of the EU, no? Ergo, you are an EU national me old mate. Your passport is unaffected by this. Didn't you know that? Nowhere did your passport state that your Nationality status was EU national. Never has. Or did yours uniquely state this? You are a British citizen. Nothing has changed for you Dick, mate....

Out of interest, could you share why you believe the UK should be full of confidence?

Yes, I could but BoJo does it so much better than I.

Turn the argument around. EU is sliding into recession, Germanty especially is in trouble, France has massive problems, Italy is on the verge of electing another anti EU government, various EU countries have voted against EU and allbeen for ed to vote again until the EU got the result it wanted. Why would we want to stay in such an organisation. One that we make a substantial net contribution to, only to be told who we can trade with and to see our net contribution to subsidise other countries industry which then takes business away from UK. It's like paying money to be punished. I am not into that sort of thing.

I am British and most definitely not an EU citizen. That situation will be formalised 31/10/19.

You sounded very confident in our merits, yet can't name a single one? By the way, no one tells British companies who they can trade with, as companies don't tend to ask permission about such things. Trade deals make trading easier, they don't permit trading to occur. That's a complete misunderstanding of what they are.

No, I am not because we are leaving the EU completely.

I am not against controlled immigration at all but EU discriminates in favour of EU citizens and I would like to see one common standard applied to anyone who wishes to move to UK.

But you said you were in favour of the Treaty of Rome we signed back in 1973. That included free movement of people. It almost sounds like you have no idea what you're talking about, which surely can't be right.

We will survive very nicely. Look at our financial services sector just as a small example. Look at the countries lining up to do business with us once we have unshackled ourselves from EU.

They can see the benefits of trading with an independent UK that you either can't or won't see.
