But you said you were in favour of the Treaty of Rome we signed back in 1973. That included free movement of people. It almost sounds like you have no idea what you're talking about, which surely can't be right.

No, I did not. The treaty of Rome was in 1958. We signed up to a common market andin 1973 it made sense. The cold war etc meant a western europe trading block was a good idea. Now, it is not and we are leaving everything associated with EU as it has evolved into something we never signed up to.

It really isn't difficult to understand if you can separate your brains from your agenda.

We will survive very nicely. Look at our financial services sector just as a small example. Look at the countries lining up to do business with us once we have unshackled ourselves from EU.

They can see the benefits of trading with an independent UK that you either can't or won't see.

I just asked you for a reason for us to be confident in our future. I'm not sure financial services is a good example as they would very much like us to remain in the EU.

We didn't sign up to the common market, we joined the European Economic Community, which was created by the Treaty of Rome in 1958 (we didn't join until later). Free movement of people was one of the core pillars of the EEC that we joined.

No, she didn't. The referendum vote, as explained by Cameron pre 2016 would take us out of the Customs Union, Common Fisheries Policy, etc etc. May's wilful and negligent surrender risked leaving us trapped in the Customs Union forever.

That is NOT what we voted for and her surrender document was rightly voted down. Three times!
The question as many leave voters in this thread consistently remind everyone was 'Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?'

And as many leavers keep reminding us in this thread, the government were nothing but project fear. Everyone on the leave side suggested we could have our cake and eat it...

Well, I am a UK citizen and not an EU one so we are looking at the situation from diamettrically opposed points of view.

I am confident so let's see how the cards fall shall we.

When making big decisions I always try to put some logic into the mix rather than just hope on blind luck.

The financial sector that will almost certainly be moving to Frankfurt. With it the jobs, income and taxes that give back to the UK.

But you never know the government may win the American mega millions/Powerball lotteries each week for the next year to help make up the shortfall.

So.... Am i missing something, or would goods then be shipped to Mcr?
The docks can unload the ship's but the containers can't get out of the port, we don't have the infrastructure for such a large volume of goods, a bit like brexit, we could do it if we prepared for it, we haven't so we can't.

Speaking of ports. They were saying on the news that most of the waste from the south gets shipped to Sweden and the Netherlands for processing, which if that gets disrupted would mean it being trucked up north for landfill.

Taking back control Bruce. Our rubbish will provide more British jobs for British people. Imagine a pristine country landscape a hive of activity with workers and lorries. The rubbish providing a home to animals and insects alike.
