My

So we should turn down proven winners in Gall,Kovac and Victor and keep Fergy who only ever managed 1 game because he 1 of us???

There have been plenty of these continental metro elites come and assigned to history very very quickly, and we seem to be very good at getting rid very quickly.
And I'm glad Big Dunc wont ask for the job, shows he is canny, because if he did and was not successful he would have to go, and none of us would want that!

Some people do not understand what different between coach and manager.
You can not coach player to play like Messi but you can manage team to play like Barca

No, but we can get a bit better than a cone layer.
Regardless of how long he gets, he has just inspired a group players whose confidence was in the floor after our worst performance in years to a group that gave us by far the most passionate Everton performance we have seen in 10 years at least. And your reaction instead of gratitude is to make snide digs. Says a lot aba you as a person. Maybe he doesn’t have the experience but he can be a proud man to get that sort of change in 2 days

So who should we get?
Fat(pass the gravy)Sam
Eddie(bend over it Liverpool) Howe
Shaun(just cough already) Dyche

It's a nostalgia trip. People in trouble in their private lives or are going nowhere delve deeeply into the past when things were 'better'.

This is that same thing on a collective level...but with only the fantasy of a 'better' past to console themselves with.

This is a psycho-drama being played out, and yesterday's game will fuel the delusions.

Yesterday was badly about the points and that is the most significant thing, those 3 points of Chelsea are points other teams arent going to get and they mitigate points dropped against your Norwich's etc.

Yesterday was energising and its difficult to put a price on momentum in sport, its key as a confidence booster, we ride that train for as long as possible and have bought a bit of time with our next appointment.

Its important to be open minded, if we start pulling off results or look comfortable toward hitting 40 as we go, id be open minded on a short term contract to the end of the season for Dunc. Thats largely based on no one in the market we are linked with inspiring me much and if we got to the summer market with a competent caretaker in place that might be a better situation, or rather we had someone internally we could use to inhabit the space a caretaker Moyes would for a couple of million, would be ideal.

Logic would dictate hes not the answer and the bounce will have a time line, but wouldn't it be nice, i know its nostalgia but shades of Joe Royles first game all those years ago yesterday, sometimes all thats needed is confidence and desire and facilitating that. There is a trend at the moment with Ole and Lampard at bringing back a former hero to galvinise a club, with mixed results and very much a theory still to be proven, a trend none the less.

It would be nice, but the clever play at the moment is keeping all options open and preparing for any scenario.

The real tests for Duncan will be the teams that sit back and wait for us to break them down. If he even gets that long, yesterday will have bought the board some more time to make a more solid choice of manager. Playing blood and thunder is good for the big sides who want the ball but not against the lower teams in the table.

None of them inspire me or the continental metros.

Recent results under Silva suggested otherwise, unless Norwich etc are now big teams!

Very good point.

Played 2 up top which is what many on here having been banging on about for months, even though this was against one of the best sides in the league. Congratulations to big Dunc he re-energised the whole team, but also a shout out to the crowd. Goodison is a very difficult ground to play out if the atmosphere is like what it was yesterday. Lampard admitted in his prime when playing for Chelsea it was the most difficult away ground to play at, well yesterday proved him right again. Goodison was rocking. Thanks to everyone concerned.

The time line on a new manager shouldn’t change because of 1 win

The only way time affects our new manager is Poch.. Utd just beat City and the club are saying Ole will be their manager next year even if the finish outside the top 6

90 minutes of football where we're coming in after a derby battering - who couldn't get a result from that? Did he even do any coaching to get that result?

We've beaten Chelsea handily in 4 of our last 6 home games against them. They're a soft touch.

You said Silva deserves loads of time for having that little spell of a few scalps at goodison. You said they were impressive victories and lumped Chelsea in. So if he does something similar over this December I’m sure you’ll feel the same way won’t you.

Rhetorical.com... but I enjoy a good matrix bullet dodge from the one that is Davek so feel free to answer.

Yeah let’s judge Howe on one game v the Kopites. Every team loses against them.

In fact, we’ve bent over for the RS for years now.

Howe is a good manager, big Dunc is a bad idea.

Royle had experience he could dig into, this feller doesn't.

Let's all remember: he hasn't coached this team AT ALL. Yesterdays win was all about the fans in that stadium. Also, when you play a team like Chelsea you can sit back and react to them pushing on. Against lesser teams you have to set up to make the running. A game against Watford or Sheffield United would be far more indicative of any coaching skills the galoot has than one against a top team.

Anyway, I dont expect him to be around much longer in a position to find out.
