Did we ever put Moyes under Pressure

good points but you're missing the point of this thread, the point is we never put Moyes under pressure here and its backfiring on him now as he not mentally prepared for it.

Ahh I see, well yes id agree. His delusional utd interviews show that! Utd will give him this season and into next season before they start to consider change. He'll know that and is why he would never of left his job here for a city or Chelsea where he'd arguably be on his way already.

Should he have been under more pressure here is another question?

You do wonder much how power Ferguson still has behind the scenes. Certainly bad times for Moyes at the moment.

The thing I don't get is that everyone is saying he needs time and that he hasn't a good go at the transfer market yet. These people are overlooking that he inherited a squad that had just won the league. Whilst they're a long, long way from a classic Man Utd team, the players he has there should be doing a lot better than they are.

Maybe but most of was grateful to have him so when he lost the must win games, we would just move on and blame the board.

To answer the topic no we didn't put him under any pressure and that is why Moyes never achieved anything. There was no desperation to be successful if his job was never on the line. Most managers have to take risks because failure costs them, whereas Moyes just carried on year on year and it didnt matter to him if he achieved anything or not.

Most of the flack Moyes has had from Everton fans after departure has been merited. I would say though he left Everton in great shape when he went. There are some great young players here and we have in Stones and Barkley the next best English centre half and midfielder.

However, he has gone to United and inherited a squad which is performing at the level that reflects its ability. No team with united's aspirations should have a 40 year old still playing for them. Unfortunately Moyes, a lot of the stalwart players like Ferdinand, vidic, giggs, evra, carrick are past their best.

Being honest, how many united players would get in Everton's team at the moment? RVP and Rooney for sure but who else? That job was a poisoned chalice for whoever took it.

... he's doing a whole lot of "the whole world is against us" style interviews recently.

The thing is, with the players they have, there's no way a 40 year old should be still playing for them. Nani at his best looked a fine player. Valencia likewise. Young is a snide, but he was very good at Villa. They have Januzaj, and of course Kagawa's problems are well documented. That's before we get on to Zaha.

So five players there who you would think would offer more than Giggs, yet with the possible exception of Januzaj, Moyes hasn't got the best out of any of them.

Doesn't help that Ferguson's at every game watching over of it all too

Yeah, I don't think this can be understated. It's like a huge shadow with the weight of expectation right there at every game. God knows how anyone is supposed to be able to produce their best under such conditions. No surprise that Utd have generally been better away this season.

Of course, Moyes doesn't have the bottle to actually confront this issue and get it resolved. Just shows you where the real power still lies at OT. How can the players respect the manager when he can't even get this sorted?

He needs to keep that power close to him, it will protect him in the boardroom.

It's all a bit " Game of Thrones " at Old Trafford these days.

It's the same squad, but with Januzaj, Fellaini and Zaha added to it. £50m+ worth of players.

Bingo, Tubey hits it on the spot here.

The strength of the squad is a subjective issue. What is totally objective is that it is the same set of player who were good enough to canter to the PL by 11 points just a few months earlier, + those additions.

People who say the "squad isn't good enough" are looking for an easy fix because its psychologically far easier to believe that you simply need to sign some new players to make everything good again than it is to confront the real issue that their chosen one is not up to the job and that a negative attitude is now prevalent at their club. That is much harder to turn around that simply getting out your chequebook.

When we finished 4th it was the same basic squad that finished 17th the previous year. The difference is not the quality of the individual players available, its how they apply themselves and approach their jobs.

Pretty bang on that!

We were perfect for Moyes. We were crap when he arrived. He got us organised, exceeded our early expectations and then coasted, constantly reinforcing the glass ceiling he was operating under. One freak fourth-place finish secured his reputation as a 'miracle worker.'

He never had to risk anything, never had to push us beyond what his prudent approach could realise.

Now, under the full glare of a global spotlight (and Sir Alex's eyes boring into the back of his head), he's under massive pressure. The best tell of which was him saying "no" when he was asked last night if he's feeling the pressure. Ludicrous, who wouldn't be?

People didn't use the phrase "safest job in world football" for no particular reason! He had it completely made at Everton as he successfully lowered expectations so much that by the end of his tenure here all he had to do every season was reach the lowest hanging fruit.

Whenever anything right happened at Everton, Moyes was the reason for it. Whenever something bad happened, it was the teams fault or the board or the weather or <insert anything but David Moyes here> and 90% of our fan base and the media bought it hook, line and sinker.

You won't find a more pressure free job than Moyes had at Everton in his last six or so years here. It was absolutely amazing to see.
