Did we ever put Moyes under Pressure

Despite the pulling power of Manchester United, Moyes has lost two very important things that he had at Everton:

1. A chairman who stood by him through thick and thin.
2. The support of the best fans in the world.

These missing intangibles should not be underestimated when his Old Trafford epitaph is written.

Totally agree.

He has gone to the biggest club in the country ( good for him ) but he has left the best club in the country ( fact ) and that will bite.

The Street End would put up with anything but the United share price won't.

Fact is the United hot seat is a different world. Its like managing Real Madrid. Nowhere to hide. The idea that they are not a "sacking club" is bull. They didn't sack Fergie because he was winning trophies and Wembley was a second home. Away from the almost unique protective blanket Goodison throws over its own he wil feel the cold.

Do you think he really cared about what we thought? He had the safest job in the world and was very honest about what he thought of Everton and where we should be, in and around the top 10 with the odd cup final.

Yep, we wanted him to grow with us, become more attacking, someone of us hinted he should have got a number 2 in who was very attacking minded to help him, instead he chose Round.

-hard to blame Round though when Moyes is such a control phreak, but it was around then that DM's view of football seemed to solidify and he seemed to convince himself he was accomplished and it was just the club that was an impediment imo mate.

They're a mess at the moment, but he's got one thing going for him in the fact United are a proper club. The support he's got from the fans at the games up until now has been brilliant and probably more than he's deserved in all honesty.

He's been in tough situations before with us and shown his fighting qualities to come through them. Granted, this is completely different but I'm not writing him off yet.

5 points off 4th is nothing and a favourable Champions League draw. Things could look a lot different in a month's time, difficult as it is to see that happening now.

People didn't use the phrase "safest job in world football" for no particular reason! He had it completely made at Everton as he successfully lowered expectations so much that by the end of his tenure here all he had to do every season was reach the lowest hanging fruit.

Whenever anything right happened at Everton, Moyes was the reason for it. Whenever something bad happened, it was the teams fault or the board or the weather or <insert anything but David Moyes here> and 90% of our fan base and the media bought it hook, line and sinker.

You won't find a more pressure free job than Moyes had at Everton in his last six or so years here. It was absolutely amazing to see.

Nail. On. Head.

He needs to spend money. The team is shocking, defensively they are all over the place and the midfield is gammon apart from Carrick. Cleverley, Anderson, Giggs need to just leave. 20seconds in the game Cleverley was already complaining about a sore neck or something.

He needs to spend big.

He defo wasn't under pressure at us though. Its all not his fault at United, he will become good if they give him a couple of seasons

I'm starting to come on board with this. I think the lack of expectations he placed on himself over the last few years are costing him now.

Was the belief really there we could finish 4th/win a trophy, or did he think we'll give it a go but the chances are we'll fall short. Looks like the latter was his thought.

He's lost the changing room

That post is amazing, totally spot on, no matter how bad we did in certain games people would just ignore his roll and moan about Kenwright and the players, shocking manager, just bugs me everyone thought it was acceptable for us to put up with him
