David moyes this season is this the definition of stagnation
David, please stop. this is embarrassing.Bu
Sadly that is a total impossibility now.
New manager wins three then loses one? SACK THEM. Two consecutive away draws? GET THEM OUT OF MY CLUB. It’s honestly anti-productive.
People want absolutely instant success and are simply not prepared to be patient. Either that or it’s loads of cases of “empty cans rattle the most”.
We are far past the point of being fallen giants. What is instant success. How patient must us fans be? What success did Moyes bring us in his first tenure? The honours list says NOTHING. In the meantime those soccer greats like Brighton, Brentford , Crystal Palace and now Sunderland are leaving us in their slipstream. At least these clubs are showing progress whilst we are slip sliding our way back to being fallen giants perhaps trying too hard to regain past glories.
Im purely and simply of the opinion that TFG are happy just to have us in the mix for a few games before settling back into mediocrity.
Are we no longer a sleeping giant ?We are far past the point of being fallen giants.
Our fall was so long ago the body is a jumble of disarticulated bones , lumps of decaying flesh and tatters of clothing.
And now the corporate vultures have alighted to pick over the remains.
I think the thing is Matty, depending on the targets set by the club (which I’d expect to be Europe next season), if things aren’t going well, yes they would get rid, but obviously we do not know who will be available to replace him which means we may have to shop in the charity store for a replacement.
At least now, we know of two potential candidates right on our doorstep (and there’ll be others in Europe) so the question is do we think based on this season, Moyes is likely to get Europe for us next season? I don’t. Change now and there can also be sonde form of agreement as to targets because I wouldn’t trust Moyes to play whoever we buy.
I get that. I thought (as did the majority based upon the start of season poll) and would've been happy with 9-12 this season. We've narrowly missed that, mostly due to our poor run in record.I don’t think it’s realised quite how much of a reset we have been required to do and are still amidst.
I agree simply aiming for top half isn’t enough, we want Europe and trophies of course for any season to count as a success but I feel a little more patience is required.
We need to be a bit less bipolar as a fan base. Rather than <current manager> in/out, just ‘do better Everton’. The managerial merry go round is a big part of how we ended up in that situation in the first place.
Not knocking the guy personally, but the sheer amount of money the club threw at Marco Silva alone in bonuses and wages was enough to almost break the club. That is one single guy, never mind the others.
We don’t need a return to that at least.
At least Dyche went to the board and told them he doesnt think he can do anymore.

I think, on balance a lot of the season is being framed around the last 7 games, which is unfair, but it can't be dismissed.
My bigger worry is, regardless of owner, we cannot be repeating transfer windows like we did under Moshiri, because the rules won't allow it and it kills progress.
I wrote something last week about it and the lack of alignment between manager and recruitment providing a transfer window which has largely been a failure. That can't be repeated again, but there is no change in the personnel or league position that led that process last summer - which was described as "difficult".
What we have seen though, is younger profile players arrive and be marginalised by the manager (who apparently holds final say on them).
So either the rhetoric about recruitment isn't correct and it's not Moyes that has final say - in which case, if the manager doesn't align with the strategy, the strategy needs to change or the manager does. Or, the manager signed off on nearly £100m worth of signings and refused to play them in a season we finished 13th and 1 point better off than last season. In which case, the manager takes responsibility for that failing.
Either way, it's hard to make a case that Moyes should be given more funds in the summer, which given the rebuild needed, is essential and he only has limited time left at the club without extension - which would be unlikely for a progressive club given the performance.
He reminds me of kenwright, very affable and playful at first , but if you ask anything remotely perceived as critical, he acts the victim and becomes hostileA total Bully, Nothing has put me off him more than his smug ego.
If it was Any other manager I'd be thinking he's asking for the chop.
That mouth needs to be put to rest.
The relegation battles have lowered our expectations further. Its a gift to mediocrity worshipSo why are we not very vocal today?
We certainly should be. Because this is way worse than Allardyce.
It strikes me as a leadership that don't know what they want or, league progress is secondary to what they want.We have to hope he gets us into Europe for then our new manager waiting
That in itself tells you he needs be fired.moyes steadied the ship but also did enough for the board not to sack him.
we're stuck with him until we are flirting with relegation again.
it would have been much better to have dispensed with him now and bought in a progressive coach and given them a pre-season.
i fear that next season is going to be another of immense disappointment.
We didn't. If we had it might have papered over some of the obvious and mind boggling decisions that Moyes has made.
However to even consider it is a bit Sean Dyche ....." It's not too bad if you add in a couple of wins"
