Top half finish might tempt one or two more players to join us.
Europe helps more, obvioulsy.
I do get the feeling that Moyes is not totally sold on 2 games per week, though. His comments this season indicate he'd ideally have us finishing 9th and out of the eurospots but in a respectable finishing position. If you could hand that to Moyes right now he'd snatch your hand off, IMO.![]()
He has his favourites and will almost never budge from that, regardless. All managers have favourites who they trust more but Moyes takes it to an extreme. Multiple ex players have talked about it too, if he loves you then he loves you and that's thatHow come Dibling and Barry got dragged off at half time in games early in the season, made a holy show of and criticised in the press for playing poorly yet players like Gana, Tarks and NDaiye can have poor games on the spin and play 90mins every game?.
Heard people ask why do we never find players like Rayan at Bournemouth?. Moist would not have given him minutes, no prem experience.
It's increasingly looking like the latter. I'm all for rugby, international football, concerts, etc... at the new stadium but only if that results in more spending on fees and wages for the football club. If we just bumble along while the shareholders pay themselves big dividends then we might as well be an American style "franchise" and if that's the case I'll be jacking it all in.At some point soon, fans are going to find out if they are supporting a football club or, actually, a stadium facility management operation.
Not quite to the level of being in Europe, but I think we'll find it easier this summer. There's now a year of 'proof' that we're not longer the mess of a relegation type club that we were for the 5 years or so prior to that. Much easier sellI know we went hard for Johan Bakayoko and he choose RB Leipzig over us he was no 1, Fofana was 2 and he wanted to wait until the end of the window as he wanted European football, we didn't go back. Kubo - there was a deal to be done but R.S.'s valuation was above ours and he also wanted a big package. Eventually we ended up with Dibling.
Was something very similar with Rohl.
We weren't that attractive in the summer and that surprised the club and disappointed Moyes. I agree Grealish was fortuitous and if im honest im not a huge fan of his signing.
Will we be attractive in the summer, i think we will be in a better position then the year before, we will be a lot better if we get Europe - but i think we still would have convincing to do - for really top targets - i think we are still in recovery from Moshiri and will be until the start of 27/28. But i also think we have less to do this summer.
Ha ha. I'm guessing it was @PercyPlant who said that or maybe @KevsleftpegNo there is a poster on here who says the 4th place is bigger that Leicester winning the PL
We don't buy fullbacks. Part of the clubs charter apparently.Well we don't have anyone who would be a good full back week in week out either, shall we rule out the possibility of playing a back 4 too? Surely whoever the manager is and whatever system they prefer to play, we have to work on the basis that we would be recruiting with that in mind?
Next season. When we sell Illy and use the money to buy technically proficient but glacially slow midfielders to replace him.If it wasn't for Illy, Moyes would stick 10 central players on the field..
11 if counting pickford..
Running up sand dunes in Blackpool? Gaffer's day?Should send them to train in stoke , build some grit and fortitude

Great post, nails it.
The only thing I'd split hairs over is having less work to do... If our purchases develop, sure this is the case .
But right now:
Jack will disappear I hope, was never up for him, but he did try. Leaves money for the gaps above, plus moving on McNeil and Seamus calling time
- I think having failed at CF (Barry is raw, needs LOADS of time),
- no FB's ( and we're going backwards by not playing those we have)
- and not built Rohl or Dibling or Aznou into first team, we have effectively gone backwards in the gaps we already had
