There’s a joke here about Beto / Barrys movement but cba with the aggro todayThey could use the statue's on Crosby for offside and set piece drills.

Agree, the legs and energy are still there. His legs haven't gone at all though.
He still gets around the pitch. He is in fantastic shape.
Ignore his age, could he not just be having a bad run of form?
I said this last season. We were safe, we had the chance to start implementing new systems and try new things. Instead, he continued to play the same and even players who were leaving? I just don't understand it.There's no pressure on for the rest of the season. We're not going down, and far too inconsistent to push for Europe. Moyes should be planning for the future, giving younger players a decent run in the team, while phasing out others with less of a future, trying new systems, giving the fans something different. I know he won't, but he should.
I was, and I am, arguing your point that another manager (using Glasner as the example) wouldn't join Everton because of historic transfer policies, and because Everton haven't signed a good fullback in 10 years.
The point remains that anything prior to TFG taking over the club is utterly irrelevant in regard to who we appoint and will not enter the the thinking of any prospective new manager.
Someone isn't going to turn down the Man City job because they didn't like how Sven Goran Eriksson was treated are they?

I honestly think there are a couple of plans going on at the same time, i think we went for players in the summer and were told to get lost - no interest without europe so the choice was nothing or buy players to develop over a three year cycle - we went for the latter. I think the summer window surprised the club and disappointed Moyes, i look at all the signings as slow burners.
I agree the summer is decsion time - they either have to give him a new deal or he needs to walk away - going into the last year of a contract as a manager and being the manager of a club this size isnt tenable - you loose all authaity.
Im giving him a three year deal personally with a break clause after two - mutual consent.
He loves to make scapegoats out of our younger players, it would appear..How come Dibling and Barry got dragged off at half time in games early in the season, made a holy show of and criticised in the press for playing poorly yet players like Gana, Tarks and NDaiye can have poor games on the spin and play 90mins every game?.
Heard people ask why do we never find players like Rayan at Bournemouth?. Moist would not have given him minutes, no prem experience.
Do you believe the story players just turned us down because European nights weren't on offer?
I think that may have been a part of it, but equally I think Moyes doesn't have a great reputation for working with good footballers. The Grealish signing was fortuitous in that Grealish just wanted to get his fitness back and to get his career on track. If he was promised starts in the PL that's have been enough to twist his arm to come here. I cant se many good players this summer buying into slotting into Moyes' brand of no-passing football.

I know we went hard for Johan Bakayoko and he choose RB Leipzig over us he was no 1, Fofana was 2 and he wanted to wait until the end of the window as he wanted European football, we didn't go back. Kubo - there was a deal to be done but R.S.'s valuation was above ours and he also wanted a big package. Eventually we ended up with Dibling.
Was something very similar with Rohl.
We weren't that attractive in the summer and that surprised the club and disappointed Moyes. I agree Grealish was fortuitous and if im honest im not a huge fan of his signing.
Will we be attractive in the summer, i think we will be in a better position then the year before, we will be a lot better if we get Europe - but i think we still would have convincing to do - for really top targets - i think we are still in recovery from Moshiri and will be until the start of 27/28. But i also think we have less to do this summer.
I'd like to see;
Branthwaite and O'Brien centre back.
Gana dropped. Garner in midfield with Dewsbury-Hall as an 8
Ndiaye on the left.
Patterson starting, he's started in wins at Villa and Forest and in Moyes' own words, never let us down. So let's start to prioritise team balance. It's daft to have Branthwaite at left back when we have a left back on the bench, or O'Brien at right back when we have right backs on the bench.
I'd also like to see some more effort into the bigger picture and developing players we've spent a lot of money on, like Dibling, Rohl, Aznou, Alcaraz. That's a lot of money there not getting any time/development.
Great post, nails it.I know we went hard for Johan Bakayoko and he choose RB Leipzig over us he was no 1, Fofana was 2 and he wanted to wait until the end of the window as he wanted European football, we didn't go back.
