2025/26 David Moyes

Nothing I've seen from TFG so far, or their choice of Everton CEO suggests there's even a remote possibility of change this summer.

They'll get him some full backs, the likes of Ivan Toney/Liam Delap/Tomas Soucek/Harry Wilson and we'll be 9th-12th next season.

You'll be happily dissatisfied. Unless Liverpool win a trophy or two. Then you'll pipe up a bit as it'll get on your nerves.

To be fair, I think a competent pair of full backs who can do a respectable amount at both ends of the pitch has this team easily 5 points or so better off, irrespective of the manager.

We practically have the same points in same position as last year. The only difference is way we archived the points now to then in the season. It's been a massive let down the last month. So many chances to gain a Euro place with the pos win that never came in the derby that would have left us 2points off 5th. We probably won't have a better chance of Europe whatever that may be via the league for years, as usually it does not go down to often to what it is going too

Last season - 13th place on 48points
W 11 D 15 L 12 - Scored 42 & Con 44

This season - Currently 12th with 49 points
W 13 D 10 L14 - Scored 47 & Con 49

I'm struggling to pinpoint the home issue.

Maybe D-Hall sat deep protecting and forcing the use of Alcaraz or Dibling in the AM. Clearly the away set up has proven its worth, maybe Moyes is to wed to that setup and its successes that he has relied on it at home where other sides have simply waited us out.

I cant quite place it.
I think if we properly assess the away performances, not just the results we got, we scabbed a few games where we were very lucky to come away with three points.

I’m made up we did like or we’d have been in a hell of a lot of trouble, but it’s papered over a lot of cracks with the manager and his team set up, wherever we are playing, that people have overlooked.

The home form is just diabolical, probably because we have to go forward more to chase the result and leave ourselves wide open, with Keane and Tarks defending like year 6 schoolkids.

We need the fanbase that called for Martinez out after two cup semifinals in a season and league finishes of 5th 11th 11th.

The one that was so incensed by Victor Pereira joining that they daubed Lampard’s name on the wall of Goodison.

Instead we have sold out away sections every match with them all singing the school of Science as Pickford launches it to Beto’s head again.

We get the club we accept and everyone at Everton is just far too comfortable.
yeah, some friends of mine are still like 'he won a european trophy' while forgetting the anger they had for Martinez who won the FA cup with bloody wigan. I'm not saying they were wrong for wanting Martinez out, just want some consistency

forgive my catch22 again...

have we not been scabbed ourselves rather a lot?

Yeah but then that is just another wasted season and with more players the next manager wouldn't have wanted brought in. That's the issue with letting him run out his contract. He wants MORE experienced players than the soon to be oldest squad in the league. ....wtf??
This has just been part rectified with Coleman announcing something like retirement?

Have we though? That's a genuine question.

I can't really remember many/any games where we've played someone off the park and come away feeling robbed.

But I can remember Palace and Fulham tearing us apart at home and us somehow snatching the points.

Yes, and he took 1 from each of Sunderland, Leeds, West Ham (!), Brentford and 0 from an abysmal Liverpool and we've got to assume it'll be 0 from Spurs as well.
yeah but got a win at old trafford as long last so that was a bit of alright, a point of city, beat up chelsea...

it's easy being selective, like a catch22 situation, pick wins out for positives, pick defeats to be negative.

Get Yakubu in, with Elliot, buy some new hamstrings for Branthwaite, Diouf from West ham, Lars Jacobsen back in at RB so J'O'B can play CB...

Yak
Grealish KDH Elliot Garner Ndiaye
Diouf Branthwaite J'O'B Jacobsen
Pickford

lovely.

we snuck a draw from brentford last kick and Grealish got a winner at bournemouth late on? selective highlights.
